It holds the commercial backbone: Accounts and their parent-child hierarchy, Contacts, catalog Packages and Services, per-account Account Services, rated Usage records, Invoices, and Payments. Because rating and invoicing originate here, CRM, product, and ERP systems continually read customer and invoice state from it and write accounts, package assignments, and usage into it.
