Why teams connect Cvent and Logisense

Put revenue reality behind every campaign: Logisense and Cvent share the same customers, contacts, and billing status in real time, in both directions.

Logisense records the money — who pays, how much, and whether they are current; Cvent decides who hears from the business and what they hear. The two overlap wherever the same customers and contacts matter to both, and when that overlap is bridged by CSV exports or an overnight batch, campaigns target on stale billing data and finance works from lists marketing has already changed underneath it.

Stacksync syncs Account Service, Usage, Invoice, Payment in Logisense with Sessions, Speakers, Exhibitors, Surveys in Cvent field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — finance keeps the revenue and payment truth, marketing keeps consent and engagement — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Act on Payment Status Updated webhooks to update entitlements or dunning status in an operational database in near real time.
  • 02 Write new signups from a product database into LogiSense as Accounts with the correct Package and Account Services.
  • 03 Read Budgets and event financials into an ERP or finance database to reconcile planned versus actual event spend.
  • 04 Write Attendees and Registrations into Cvent from external marketing signup flows, then read attendance status back into a warehouse.

Common sync patterns

One customer and contact list

Where both systems keep customer or contact records, an edit on either side propagates to the other, ending dual maintenance and the drift it creates.

Where Cvent captures new people: clean records flow to finance

Registrants, form fills, or leads created in Cvent create or update the matching customer or contact in Logisense, so billing and reporting start from accurate details without re-entry.

Where Logisense tracks lifecycle state: keep Cvent current

Trial, renewal, churn, or payment state from Logisense updates the contact in Cvent, so lifecycle campaigns and audience suppression run on current billing reality.

What you can sync between Cvent and Logisense

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Cvent objects Logisense objects How this pairing syncs
Contacts Account-wide people database spanning every event; synced two-way with a CRM or warehouse as the shared audience source of truth via the Create Contacts endpoint. Contact People attached to an Account (billing, technical); synced two-way with CRM contacts and warehouse person records. Same entity on both sides — records pair one-to-one and field-level changes reconcile in both directions.
Surveys Survey definitions and responses; read out to a warehouse for post-event feedback analysis alongside attendance data. Extension Attribute Custom fields on entities via Extension/Attribute/Entity; discoverable so field mappings extend to org-specific data. Surveys is specific to Cvent and Extension Attribute to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Budgets Event budget line items; read into a finance database or ERP to reconcile planned versus actual event spend. Account Customer or partner records holding billing settings; hierarchical parent-child, synced two-way with CRM and warehouse customer tables. Budgets is specific to Cvent and Account to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Events Top-level event containers created and updated through the Events endpoints; read out for reporting and written to provision events from an external system. Package and Service Product catalog of offerings and their chargeable services (one-time, recurring, usage-based); read for reporting or written from a catalog source. Events is specific to Cvent and Package and Service to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Attendees and Registrations Per-event registrants; written in from CRM or marketing signup flows via POST /ea/attendees and read back out to a warehouse for attendance and registration-status reporting. Account Service Billable line item of a Package assigned to an account; written when provisioning or changing a subscription, read for entitlement checks. Attendees and Registrations is specific to Cvent and Account Service to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Sessions Agenda items within an event; listed or created through the API and synced so session-level attendance feeds reporting tables. Usage Metered usage records fed to the rating engine and classified by Usage Class and Unit; written in from product or warehouse event data. Sessions is specific to Cvent and Usage to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Cvent and Logisense

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Cvent Logisense Sub-second propagation

DetectionCvent notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Logisense through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Logisense Cvent Sub-second propagation

DetectionLogisense notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhook event subscriptions push near-real-time notifications on record status changes (e.g.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Cvent through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Cvent: Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC.
  • Logisense: No publicly documented fixed request cap; JWT access tokens are short-lived, and high-volume usage is ingested through mediation feeds rather than per-record API writes.

How the Cvent and Logisense connectors work

Cvent

Integration surface
Cvent REST API (JSON over HTTPS at api-platform.cvent.com/ea, paginated list endpoints)
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client-credentials flow: a client ID and secret are Basic-auth exchanged for a 60-minute bearer token at api-platform.cvent.com/ea/oauth2/token; legacy API-key and SOAP/CSN auth are deprecated
Change detection
Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes; list endpoints also expose updatedDate for polling and support on-demand manual sync
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC

Logisense

Integration surface
REST API (versioned, e.g. v9/v10)
Authentication
JSON Web Token (JWT) bearer tokens obtained via the API and refreshed before expiry
Change detection
Webhook event subscriptions push near-real-time notifications on record status changes (e.g. Payment Status Updated), with a Webhook Monitor for retries; entities without webhook coverage are polled via filtered REST queries
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
No publicly documented fixed request cap; JWT access tokens are short-lived, and high-volume usage is ingested through mediation feeds rather than per-record API writes.
