Why teams connect Ironclad and Logisense

Connect the financial records in Logisense with the work happening in Ironclad, so both stay current without exports or copy-paste.

Logisense holds the financial truth: who the customers are, what they were billed, what they paid. Ironclad is where part of the day-to-day work happens, and that work often involves the same customers and transactions. Without a live connection, the two drift apart, and people end up answering questions from stale copies.

Stacksync keeps Extension Attribute, Account, Contact, Package and Service in Logisense and Webhooks, Workflow Approvals, Signature Packets, Workflow Documents in Ironclad in sync, bi-directionally and in real time. Whatever records Ironclad keeps and whatever events it produces, the overlap with Logisense is mapped field by field, and a change on either side shows up on the other within seconds.

There is no middleware to build, no API rate limits to babysit, and no nightly job that leaves the morning running on yesterday's data.

Common use cases

  • 01 Stream Usage records from a warehouse or product event pipeline into LogiSense for rating and usage-based Invoices.
  • 02 Act on Payment Status Updated webhooks to update entitlements or dunning status in an operational database in near real time.
  • 03 Two-way sync Ironclad Records with a warehouse or ERP so executed-contract value, counterparty, renewal dates, and status stay current without manual re-keying.
  • 04 Sync Entities (counterparties) two-way with a CRM or ERP so company and vendor master data matches across the CLM and the systems of record.

Common sync patterns

Where Ironclad tracks people or companies: one identity

A customer's details updated in either system update the other, so finance and the rest of the business stop maintaining two versions of the same customer.

Where Ironclad handles customer conversations: billing context in view

Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Logisense next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.

Where Ironclad collects payments or triggers charges: events land in Logisense

Payment and charge activity flows into Logisense as it happens, so the books reflect reality without manual reconciliation.

What you can sync between Ironclad and Logisense

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Ironclad objects Logisense objects How this pairing syncs
Records The Repository of executed and stored contracts with metadata (value, counterparty, key dates, type) and attachments; full create, read, update, and delete so signed-contract data and PDFs sync to a warehouse, ERP, or CRM. Usage Metered usage records fed to the rating engine and classified by Usage Class and Unit; written in from product or warehouse event data. Records is specific to Ironclad and Usage to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Entities Structured records for counterparties and other parties linked to workflows and records; read and written to keep company and vendor master data aligned with a CRM or ERP. Invoice Generated billing documents with items, history, and status; typically read out to ERPs and warehouses for finance and reconciliation. Entities is specific to Ironclad and Invoice to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Obligations Post-signature commitments, milestones, and renewal dates tied to contracts; synced two-way to drive renewal, compliance, and finance reporting in downstream systems. Payment Payment records whose status changes emit webhooks; read for cash reconciliation and to drive dunning and provisioning workflows. Obligations is specific to Ironclad and Payment to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Webhooks Event subscriptions that push workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment changes to Stacksync in near real time; created, listed, and deleted through the API across 40+ event types. Extension Attribute Custom fields on entities via Extension/Attribute/Entity; discoverable so field mappings extend to org-specific data. Webhooks is specific to Ironclad and Extension Attribute to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Workflow Approvals Per-workflow approval requests and their state; read to report approval status and cycle time, and status changes arrive live through the workflow_approval_status_changed event. Account Customer or partner records holding billing settings; hierarchical parent-child, synced two-way with CRM and warehouse customer tables. Workflow Approvals is specific to Ironclad and Account to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Signature Packets The e-signature packets on a workflow (sent, signatures collected, fully signed); read to track signing progress, with packet events delivered by webhook for real-time status. Contact People attached to an Account (billing, technical); synced two-way with CRM contacts and warehouse person records. Signature Packets is specific to Ironclad and Contact to Logisense — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Ironclad and Logisense

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Ironclad Logisense Sub-second propagation

DetectionIronclad notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Logisense through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Logisense Ironclad Sub-second propagation

DetectionLogisense notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhook event subscriptions push near-real-time notifications on record status changes (e.g.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Ironclad through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Ironclad: Limits are enforced per account per minute by endpoint: GET Workflows 400 and POST/PATCH Workflows 40; GET Records 600 and POST/PATCH Records 200; GET Entities 600 and POST/PATCH Entities 200; Webhooks 600; all other endpoints 800. Exceeding a limit returns HTTP 429, and Ironclad recommends exponential backoff with jitter.
  • Logisense: No publicly documented fixed request cap; JWT access tokens are short-lived, and high-volume usage is ingested through mediation feeds rather than per-record API writes.

How the Ironclad and Logisense connectors work

Ironclad

Integration surface
REST/JSON Public API (CLM API) at https://na1.ironcladapp.com/public/api/v1 (NA1 and EU1 regions plus a demo/sandbox), with a native Webhooks subscription API; described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec.
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22.
Change detection
Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing endpoint up to 10 times over about 13.6 hours with exponential backoff. Otherwise poll the list endpoints by last-updated. There is no database change-data-capture log.
Capabilities

Rate limits
Limits are enforced per account per minute by endpoint: GET Workflows 400 and POST/PATCH Workflows 40; GET Records 600 and POST/PATCH Records 200; GET Entities 600 and POST/PATCH Entities 200; Webhooks 600; all other endpoints 800. Exceeding a limit returns HTTP 429, and Ironclad recommends exponential backoff with jitter.

Logisense

Integration surface

Authentication
JSON Web Token (JWT) bearer tokens obtained via the API and refreshed before expiry
Change detection
Webhook event subscriptions push near-real-time notifications on record status changes (e.g. Payment Status Updated), with a Webhook Monitor for retries; entities without webhook coverage are polled via filtered REST queries
Capabilities

Rate limits
No publicly documented fixed request cap; JWT access tokens are short-lived, and high-volume usage is ingested through mediation feeds rather than per-record API writes.
