Two-way sync
Changes in Paylocity or Zendesk instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Paylocity and Zendesk in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Each tool in Zendesk keeps its own list of who can use it: users, members, or agents, along with the team they sit on and whether they are still active. Paylocity is the authoritative record of the same people as employees, with their department, manager, and employment status. When those two are connected only by manual account admin or a periodic export, the work tools drift: new hires wait days for access, team and manager changes never catch up, and people who have left keep standing accounts.
Stacksync syncs Users, Organizations, Attachments, Ticket Forms in Zendesk with Deductions (Pay Setup), Earnings (Pay Setup), Local and State Taxes, Direct Deposit in Paylocity bi-directionally and in real time. A person added, moved, or offboarded in Paylocity creates or updates the matching user in Zendesk within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of spreadsheets and one-off account changes. Where Zendesk captures details of its own, such as a corrected contact or a login identity, those can flow back to Paylocity in whichever direction you configure.
Because the sync is field-level, each system keeps its own extras; only the shared facts, who a person is, which team they belong to, and whether their access should be on, are held in agreement.
Department, team, and reporting-line changes from Paylocity keep the groups, queues, or projects in Zendesk assigned to the right people.
When someone changes teams or managers in Paylocity, the queues, ownership, or approvals in Zendesk update to match, so work reaches whoever holds the role now.
A new hire recorded in Paylocity creates the matching user in Zendesk with the right team and manager already set, so people can start working without waiting on a provisioning ticket.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Paylocity objects | Zendesk objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct Deposit Read-only: Get All Direct Deposit and Get Employee Bank Accounts return main and additional allocations. Bank details cannot be written through the API. | Attachments Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Direct Deposit is specific to Paylocity and Attachments to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Pay Statements Read-only detailed payroll statement data — earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposit allocations by year, check date, or date range. Pulled for reporting, never written. | Ticket Forms Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Pay Statements is specific to Paylocity and Ticket Forms to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Company Codes Read-only reference codes and descriptions (cost centers, departments, positions) used to validate field mappings on employee writes. | Tickets The central work object; synced to databases for SLA and volume reporting or mirrored into engineering tools. | Company Codes is specific to Paylocity and Tickets to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Custom Fields Read-only company-specific custom fields returned by category, used to enrich the employee record downstream. | Tickets Comments Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Custom Fields is specific to Paylocity and Tickets Comments to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Employees Core HR record keyed by companyId + employeeId; two-way via Create New Employee (POST) and Update Employee (PATCH), plus Get Employee / Get All Employees for reads. | Users End users and agents; matched to CRM contacts to keep requester data consistent. | Employees is specific to Paylocity and Users to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Onboarding Create Employee Onboarding pushes new-hire data into Paylocity's onboarding workflow; Get Onboarding Status reads back partner onboarding progress. Write-in for hires from an ATS. | Organizations Company groupings for users; typically kept aligned with CRM accounts. | Onboarding is specific to Paylocity and Organizations to Zendesk — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionPaylocity notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks — Paylocity POSTs Employee New Hire, Employee Change, Termination, Payroll Processed, and Time Off Approval events to a callback URL.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Zendesk through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Paylocity and Zendesk: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Paylocity's Direct Deposit and Pay Statements), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Paylocity: REST API (v1 and v2), JSON payloads. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials via the Paylocity Identity Provider (/IdentityServer/connect/token) with the WebLinkAPI scope; access tokens expire after one hour and API access must be enabled by Paylocity for the company. Zendesk: REST API. Authentication: OAuth app authorization: enter your Zendesk subdomain (from {sub_domain_name}.zendesk.com) in Stacksync Connections and click "Authorize App". Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Zendesk: The incremental export APIs are designed for replication, returning time-ordered changes with cursor pagination rather than requiring full-table scans. Paylocity: API access is not on by default — Paylocity must enable the integration for the company and issue OAuth client credentials, and access tokens expire after one hour. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Paylocity and Zendesk without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Paylocity and Zendesk records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Paylocity and Zendesk connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Paylocity–Zendesk integration in-house.
Yes — Stacksync ships production-grade connectors for both Paylocity and Zendesk. The connectors handle authentication, schema detection, rate limits, and retries; you configure the sync, and Stacksync operates it.
