Two-way sync
Changes in Marketo or Seismic instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Marketo and Seismic in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Seismic owns the customer relationship and the pipeline; Marketo runs the campaigns, audiences, and outreach that fill it. The two overlap on the same people and companies — a lead in one system is a subscriber, a segment member, an event registrant, or an ad audience in the other. When that overlap is bridged by CSV exports or a nightly job, sales works from lists that no longer match reality and marketing keeps targeting people whose status has already moved on.
Stacksync syncs Users, User Groups, Teamsites, LiveSend Links in Seismic with Programs and Program Members, Smart Campaigns, Leads, Companies in Marketo field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — Seismic can own account and opportunity status while Marketo owns engagement and campaign membership — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.
New leads or responders captured in Marketo flow into Seismic assigned and deduplicated, so nothing sits in a marketing list waiting for someone to export it.
When a contact or lead is created or edited in either system, the matching record appears or updates in the other, so campaigns reach real people and reps see who is already being marketed to.
Opens, clicks, form fills, event attendance, or ad responses recorded in Marketo post back to the contact or account in Seismic, so reps see interest before they reach out.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Marketo objects | Seismic objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Static Lists Named static lists; read via /rest/v1/lists.json, with Leads added or removed via POST and DELETE on /rest/v1/lists/{listId}/leads.json to control campaign membership from lifecycle logic computed downstream. | Digital Sales Rooms Buyer-facing microsites (DSRs); lifecycle and content-change events surface via webhooks, currently marked Early Access. | Static Lists is specific to Marketo and Digital Sales Rooms to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Programs and Program Members Marketing programs read via /rest/v1/programs.json; program membership and member status managed via /rest/v1/leads/programs/{programId}.json and the program status endpoint for acquisition and attribution reporting. | Reporting Activities Content-interaction, engagement, and usage analytics extracted read-only through the ETL-oriented Reporting API v2 for a warehouse. | Programs and Program Members is specific to Marketo and Reporting Activities to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Smart Campaigns Automation flows read via /rest/v1/campaigns.json and run against a set of Leads by requesting a trigger campaign with POST /rest/v1/campaigns/{id}/trigger.json, so downstream logic can push Leads into a Marketo flow. | Library Content Documents, decks, and assets stored in teamsites; created, moved, and retrieved via the Content Management API, each with a contentId. | Smart Campaigns is specific to Marketo and Library Content to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Leads Core person records (called Leads/People), deduped on email address by default or a configured dedupe field; read via GET /rest/v1/leads.json with a filterType, upserted via POST /rest/v1/leads.json (action createOrUpdate/createOnly/updateOnly), bulk-imported via CSV through POST /bulk/v1/leads.json, and bulk-exported via /bulk/v1/leads/export/create.json. | Content Versions Version history for a library item; new versions upload via API and old ones expire, with events firing on ContentManager webhooks. | Leads is specific to Marketo and Content Versions to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Companies Company records linked to Leads via a company link field; read and upserted through /rest/v1/companies.json, typically mastered in a CRM or ERP and written into Marketo for account context. | Users User records managed through SCIM 2.0 and legacy user endpoints; created, updated, and deactivated for provisioning sync. | Companies is specific to Marketo and Users to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Opportunities and Opportunity Roles Revenue objects synced via /rest/v1/opportunities.json and /rest/v1/opportunities/roles.json; roles associate an opportunity with a Lead, so pipeline data can drive nurture and scoring. | User Groups Group definitions and membership that govern content access; synced from an IdP or HRIS to keep permissions current. | Opportunities and Opportunity Roles is specific to Marketo and User Groups to Seismic — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Marketo for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling: Get Lead Changes and Get Lead Activities from a paging token seeded by a sinceDatetime, plus Get Deleted Leads, or Bulk Extract filtered on.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Seismic through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionSeismic notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks for content, version, user, group, workflow, DSR, and LiveSend events.

Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between Marketo and Seismic.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Marketo and Seismic with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Marketo and Seismic objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Marketo and Seismic: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Marketo's Static Lists and Programs and Program Members), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Change detection on Marketo: Polling: Get Lead Changes and Get Lead Activities from a paging token seeded by a sinceDatetime, plus Get Deleted Leads, or Bulk Extract filtered on createdAt/updatedAt. Marketo's Webhooks are Smart Campaign flow-step outbound HTTP calls to a URL, not a general record-change subscription, so there is no push feed of arbitrary CRUD. On Seismic: Webhooks for content, version, user, group, workflow, DSR, and LiveSend events; the Reporting API v2 is polled for batch historical extracts (ETL-oriented, not high-frequency). Each detected change propagates to the other side in milliseconds, with field-level conflict resolution and an inspectable event log.
On the Seismic side: Users, User Groups, Teamsites, LiveSend Links, plus custom fields where Seismic exposes them. On the Marketo side: Programs and Program Members, Smart Campaigns, Leads, Companies. Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Marketo and Seismic: Where Marketo generates leads: hand-off without re-keying; New and updated people stay in step; Where Marketo captures engagement: activity lands on the record. New leads or responders captured in Marketo flow into Seismic assigned and deduplicated, so nothing sits in a marketing list waiting for someone to export it.
Marketo: Marketo REST API (JSON over HTTPS) for Leads, Companies, Opportunities, Custom Objects, Activities, Lists, Programs, and Campaigns, plus an asynchronous Bulk Import (leads) and Bulk Extract (leads/activities/program members/custom objects) API and an Asset REST API for emails, forms, and landing pages. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client_credentials (2-legged): GET the Identity URL /oauth/token?grant_type=client_credentials with a Custom Service client_id and client_secret to receive an access token valid for 3600 seconds, then send it as Authorization: Bearer on each call. The instance base URL is https://{munchkinId}.mktorest.com; passing the token as an access_token query parameter is deprecated (removal July 31, 2026). Seismic: REST Integration APIs and Reporting API v2. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect; Bearer token in the Authorization header, via Authorization Code (user context) or client-credentials app-only flows. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
