Two-way sync
Changes in Marketo or SAP ASE (Sybase) instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Marketo and SAP ASE (Sybase) in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Marketo holds the people, audiences, and campaign activity that marketing runs on, but that data sits behind interfaces built for marketers, not for your internal systems. Engineers and analysts who need contacts, list membership, or engagement, for reporting, attribution, or product logic, end up writing integration code against a rate-limited API and maintaining it forever. Meanwhile the customer and usage data marketers want for targeting already lives in SAP ASE (Sybase), hard to get into campaigns without manual exports.
Stacksync mirrors Leads, Companies, Opportunities and Opportunity Roles, Custom Objects from Marketo into Databases and Schemas, Triggers, Indexes, Tables in SAP ASE (Sybase) field by field, in real time, and in both directions. Marketing records become rows your code can query and join with product and customer data; audiences and attributes computed in SAP ASE (Sybase), from usage, orders, or account status, sync back into Marketo to drive campaigns and ads, with Marketo kept authoritative for engagement. You decide which side owns which fields, and Stacksync resolves conflicts by rules you set.
A new lead, form fill, or list change in Marketo arrives as a row change in SAP ASE (Sybase), so scoring, jobs, and notifications run in the tooling your team already uses.
Lifecycle stage, subscription status, or plan maintained on either side stays current on the other, ending exports and dual data entry.
Contacts, leads, audiences, and campaign metrics from Marketo live in SAP ASE (Sybase) as ordinary tables or collections, joinable with the rest of your data and reachable without touching the vendor API.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Marketo objects | SAP ASE (Sybase) objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Programs and Program Members Marketing programs read via /rest/v1/programs.json; program membership and member status managed via /rest/v1/leads/programs/{programId}.json and the program status endpoint for acquisition and attribution reporting. | Databases and Schemas Namespaces that scope sync configuration and permissions. | Programs and Program Members is specific to Marketo and Databases and Schemas to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Smart Campaigns Automation flows read via /rest/v1/campaigns.json and run against a set of Leads by requesting a trigger campaign with POST /rest/v1/campaigns/{id}/trigger.json, so downstream logic can push Leads into a Marketo flow. | Triggers Server-side hooks sometimes used to populate change-capture tables for syncs. | Smart Campaigns is specific to Marketo and Triggers to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Leads Core person records (called Leads/People), deduped on email address by default or a configured dedupe field; read via GET /rest/v1/leads.json with a filterType, upserted via POST /rest/v1/leads.json (action createOrUpdate/createOnly/updateOnly), bulk-imported via CSV through POST /bulk/v1/leads.json, and bulk-exported via /bulk/v1/leads/export/create.json. | Indexes Access paths that keep keyed polling queries efficient on large OLTP tables. | Leads is specific to Marketo and Indexes to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Companies Company records linked to Leads via a company link field; read and upserted through /rest/v1/companies.json, typically mastered in a CRM or ERP and written into Marketo for account context. | Tables The core sync unit; rows are read and written with standard SQL. | Companies is specific to Marketo and Tables to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Opportunities and Opportunity Roles Revenue objects synced via /rest/v1/opportunities.json and /rest/v1/opportunities/roles.json; roles associate an opportunity with a Lead, so pipeline data can drive nurture and scoring. | Views Read-only projections used to shape data for extraction without touching base tables. | Opportunities and Opportunity Roles is specific to Marketo and Views to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Custom Objects Auxiliary data tables described via /rest/v1/customobjects.json and read/written via /rest/v1/customobjects/{apiName}.json, linked to Leads by a dedupe/link field so campaigns branch on records like purchases or subscriptions. | Stored Procedures T-SQL routines that encapsulate business logic; often invoked instead of direct table writes. | Custom Objects is specific to Marketo and Stored Procedures to SAP ASE (Sybase) — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Marketo for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling: Get Lead Changes and Get Lead Activities from a paging token seeded by a sinceDatetime, plus Get Deleted Leads, or Bulk Extract filtered on.
DeliveryEach detected change is applied to SAP ASE (Sybase) as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.
DetectionStacksync polls SAP ASE (Sybase) for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Timestamp or key-based polling and trigger-based capture.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Marketo through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Pick the Marketo and SAP ASE (Sybase) objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Marketo and SAP ASE (Sybase): authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Marketo's Programs and Program Members and Smart Campaigns), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Marketo and SAP ASE (Sybase): React to marketing changes as row changes; Keep contact attributes consistent; Query Marketo like a database. A new lead, form fill, or list change in Marketo arrives as a row change in SAP ASE (Sybase), so scoring, jobs, and notifications run in the tooling your team already uses.
Marketo: Marketo REST API (JSON over HTTPS) for Leads, Companies, Opportunities, Custom Objects, Activities, Lists, Programs, and Campaigns, plus an asynchronous Bulk Import (leads) and Bulk Extract (leads/activities/program members/custom objects) API and an Asset REST API for emails, forms, and landing pages. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client_credentials (2-legged): GET the Identity URL /oauth/token?grant_type=client_credentials with a Custom Service client_id and client_secret to receive an access token valid for 3600 seconds, then send it as Authorization: Bearer on each call. The instance base URL is https://{munchkinId}.mktorest.com; passing the token as an access_token query parameter is deprecated (removal July 31, 2026). SAP ASE (Sybase): SQL over the TDS wire protocol; JDBC (jConnect) and ODBC drivers. Authentication: Database credentials (username/password), optionally backed by LDAP or Kerberos. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
SAP ASE (Sybase): Connectivity typically goes through SAP's jConnect JDBC driver or Open Client/ODBC libraries. Marketo: Interactive calls are limited to 100 per 20 seconds (error 606) and 10 concurrent calls (error 615) per instance, neither of which can be increased, under a default 50,000-calls-per-day quota that resets at midnight CST. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Marketo and SAP ASE (Sybase) without custom code.
