Why teams connect Bingads and Ramp

Put revenue reality behind every campaign: Ramp and Bingads share the same customers, contacts, and billing status in real time, in both directions.

Ramp records the money — who pays, how much, and whether they are current; Bingads decides who hears from the business and what they hear. The two overlap wherever the same customers and contacts matter to both, and when that overlap is bridged by CSV exports or an overnight batch, campaigns target on stale billing data and finance works from lists marketing has already changed underneath it.

Stacksync syncs Cards, Users, Departments, Reimbursements in Ramp with Ad Extensions (Assets), Accounts, Customers & Users, Performance Reports, Campaigns in Bingads field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — finance keeps the revenue and payment truth, marketing keeps consent and engagement — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Read Reimbursements into a finance database for cross-entity expense reporting and reconciliation without manual CSV exports.
  • 02 Two-way sync Transactions and their accounting codings with a Postgres warehouse so finance analyzes spend in SQL and pushes GL categories and memos back to Ramp.
  • 03 Pull performance Reports (campaign, ad group, keyword, geographic) into Postgres or a warehouse to blend Microsoft Advertising spend and conversions with Google Ads, CRM, and revenue data.
  • 04 Import offline conversions - closed-won deals and qualified leads - from a CRM into Microsoft Advertising with ApplyOfflineConversions so automated bidding optimizes on real outcomes.

Common sync patterns

Where Ramp tracks lifecycle state: keep Bingads current

Trial, renewal, churn, or payment state from Ramp updates the contact in Bingads, so lifecycle campaigns and audience suppression run on current billing reality.

Consent and contact details stay aligned

Email, phone, address, and opt-out flags kept in either system stay consistent in the other, so every send and record honors the latest preferences.

Revenue and billing signals reach the audience

Plan tier, spend, or payment status from Ramp lands on the matching record in Bingads, so segments and targeting reflect who actually pays and how much.

What you can sync between Bingads and Ramp

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Bingads objects Ramp objects How this pairing syncs
Conversion Goals & Offline Conversions Conversion goals (read/create) plus ApplyOfflineConversions, which imports offline conversion events (closed deals, qualified leads) back into Microsoft Advertising to inform bidding. Users Employee and cardholder records; invited, updated, and deactivated, commonly synced from an HRIS or identity provider. Conversion Goals & Offline Conversions is specific to Bingads and Users to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Ad Extensions (Assets) Sitelink, callout, image, call, and other extensions/assets associated to campaigns and ad groups; CRUD via Campaign Management. Departments Org groupings for cost-center and GL allocation; pushed from an ERP/HRIS and referenced by cards and transactions. Ad Extensions (Assets) is specific to Bingads and Departments to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Accounts, Customers & Users Customer Management hierarchy - accounts, customers, and users - read and managed to mirror agency/MCC-style structure and access into an internal database. Reimbursements Out-of-pocket expense claims; read for reporting and marked ready-to-sync then synced to the ERP. Accounts, Customers & Users is specific to Bingads and Reimbursements to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Performance Reports Campaign, ad group, keyword, geographic, and audience performance via the asynchronous Reporting service (submit, poll, download); read-only spend and conversion data. Bills Accounts-payable bills; created, updated, approved, and paid, then posted ready-to-sync and synced to accounting. Performance Reports is specific to Bingads and Bills to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Campaigns Search, Audience, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns with budget, status, and campaign-type settings; full create/read/update/delete through the Campaign Management service (or Bulk for scale). Vendors Supplier records under the accounting namespace; uploaded and updated for AP matching and payments. Campaigns is specific to Bingads and Vendors to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Ad Groups Ad groups under a campaign with bids, network and audience targeting, and status; CRUD via Campaign Management, so structure can be pushed in from a database. Funds (Spend Controls) Spend controls governing card usage; read and created via the funds API to enforce budgets per user, department, or program. Ad Groups is specific to Bingads and Funds (Spend Controls) to Ramp — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Bingads and Ramp

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Bingads Ramp Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Bingads for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. No webhooks or change-data-capture.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Ramp through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Ramp Bingads Sub-second propagation

DetectionRamp notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Signed webhooks (HMAC-SHA256 X-Ramp-Signature) for bill, transaction, reimbursement, vendor, and user events.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Bingads through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Bingads: Service-specific throttling rather than one global limit. Ad Insight caps calls per user per minute with a 60-second sliding window at the customer level. The Bulk service caps download/upload calls and, once hit, returns 'no more bulk upload or download calls will be permitted for this account,' clearing after up to 15 minutes; Campaign Management caps entities per call, so large changes go through Bulk.
  • Ramp: 200 requests per 10-second rolling window per source IP; exceeding it returns 429 Too Many Requests, and requests running over 60 seconds return 504. Results use keyset pagination (follow the page.next URL / start cursor); higher limits can be requested from support.

How the Bingads and Ramp connectors work

Bingads

Integration surface
SOAP web services (Bing Ads API v13): Campaign Management, Bulk, Reporting, Customer Management, Customer Billing, and Ad Insight services, plus offline conversion import. SDKs for C#, Java, Python, and PHP; a Sandbox environment mirrors production.
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 (Microsoft identity platform / Azure AD) access tokens passed in the SOAP AuthenticationToken header, plus a Microsoft Advertising Developer Token that authorizes API access; calls are scoped by CustomerId and account (CustomerAccountId).
Change detection
No webhooks or change-data-capture. Reporting is asynchronous - submit a report request, poll until it completes, then download the file. Current campaign state is refreshed via scheduled Bulk downloads (full or by last-sync date) or entity list calls.

Authentication
OAuth 2.0: exchange client_id/client_secret (HTTP Basic) at api.ramp.com/developer/v1/token for scoped bearer tokens; client_credentials grant for server-to-server and authorization_code for user-delegated access; scopes follow resource:permission (e.g. transactions:read, bills:write, accounting:write).
Change detection
Signed webhooks (HMAC-SHA256 X-Ramp-Signature) for bill, transaction, reimbursement, vendor, and user events; otherwise poll incrementally (synced_after on transactions, from_created_at on bills) with keyset pagination, or read the audit-logs/events feed.
