Why teams connect Infor CloudSuite and Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Feed the real customer, order, and revenue records from Infor CloudSuite into Salesforce Marketing Cloud so campaigns run on who actually bought what, and let contact and consent changes flow back in real time.

Marketing runs on lists of people, but the list rarely knows which of those people are paying customers, what they ordered, or what they are worth. Infor CloudSuite holds exactly that: Items, Customers, Suppliers / vendors, Sales orders that record who the customer is, what they bought, and what they owe. When the two are joined only by a periodic export, campaigns go out against stale audiences, existing customers get prospecting emails, high-value accounts look the same as cold leads, and a canceled order still counts toward a segment.

Stacksync syncs Items, Customers, Suppliers / vendors, Sales orders in Infor CloudSuite with Transactional Sends, Data Extensions, Contacts / Subscribers, Journeys (Journey Builder) in Salesforce Marketing Cloud in real time, and where both sides accept writes, in both directions. Customer, order, and invoice data maps field by field onto the contacts, audiences, or accounts Salesforce Marketing Cloud works with, so segmentation and personalization run on current purchase history instead of a month-old snapshot. Contact details and consent changes that originate in Salesforce Marketing Cloud flow back onto the record in Infor CloudSuite.

The strongest bridge between the two is identity and purchase history, who the customer is and what they have bought, so that is where most of the value sits. Because the sync is field-level, each system keeps the attributes the other has no use for; only the shared records are held in agreement.

Common use cases

  • 01 Sync items, customers, and orders between CloudSuite and a CRM so sales quotes against live pricing and inventory.
  • 02 Flow ecommerce orders into CloudSuite and return order status and shipment data to the storefront.
  • 03 Two-way sync Data Extension rows between Marketing Cloud and a Postgres database or warehouse so audience attributes and opt-out state stay aligned in both systems.
  • 04 Push CRM or warehouse audience segments into Data Extensions via the async rows API (background bulk insert) so marketing sends to freshly built audiences without manual CSV imports.

Common sync patterns

Suppress or target existing customers

Because Infor CloudSuite knows who is already a paying customer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud can exclude them from acquisition campaigns or single them out for renewal and cross-sell.

One customer identity across both systems

A person or company's contact details corrected in either system update the other, so marketing and the back office stop maintaining separate versions of the same record.

Lifecycle triggers from back-office events

A first order, a renewal, or a lapsed account recorded in Infor CloudSuite appears in Salesforce Marketing Cloud within seconds, ready to start or stop a lifecycle campaign.

What you can sync between Infor CloudSuite and Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Infor CloudSuite objects Salesforce Marketing Cloud objects How this pairing syncs
Purchase orders Supply-side documents shared with procurement and supplier portals. Content Assets (Content Builder) Emails, templates, images, and reusable content blocks stored in Content Builder and read or written via /asset/v1/content/assets, used to compose the messages a journey or send delivers. Purchase orders is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Content Assets (Content Builder) to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Invoices Billing documents synced to finance and reporting systems. Automations (Automation Studio) Scheduled or triggered workflows of import, query, extract, and send activities managed via /automation/v1/automations; SQL Query Activities read Data Views and write results into Data Extensions. Invoices is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Automations (Automation Studio) to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Inventory balances On-hand quantities exposed so external channels quote against real stock. Tracking Events Sent, Open, Click, Bounce, Unsubscribe, and NotSent events retrieved through the SOAP tracking objects (SentEvent, OpenEvent, ClickEvent, BounceEvent) or the Automation Studio Data Views (_Sent, _Open, _Click, _Bounce) - the queryable record of engagement per send. Inventory balances is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Tracking Events to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
GL journal entries Financial postings replicated for consolidated reporting. Transactional Sends Triggered and transactional Email/SMS delivered through the Messaging API (/messaging/v1/email/messages/{key}); the Event Notification Service reports each message's disposition (delivered, bounced, opened, clicked). GL journal entries is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Transactional Sends to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Items Product and material masters synced to commerce, CRM, and planning tools. Data Extensions Custom relational tables that store subscriber, audience, and arbitrary business data; rows are read via GET /data/v1/customobjectdata or SOAP Retrieve and upserted via the synchronous rowset PUT or the async /data/v1/async/dataextensions rows endpoint. This is the primary two-way surface. Items is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Data Extensions to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Customers Account masters matched against CRM records in two-way syncs. Contacts / Subscribers The contact model keyed by Subscriber Key, holding channel addresses and subscription status; managed through the Contacts API (/contacts/v1/contacts) and the SOAP Subscriber object, and referenced by every send and journey. Customers is specific to Infor CloudSuite and Contacts / Subscribers to Salesforce Marketing Cloud — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Infor CloudSuite and Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Infor CloudSuite Salesforce Marketing Cloud Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Infor CloudSuite for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Event-style BOD publications through Infor ION where configured.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Salesforce Marketing Cloud through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Infor CloudSuite Sub-second propagation

DetectionSalesforce Marketing Cloud notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. The Event Notification Service (ENS) issues HTTPS POST callbacks for transactional Email and SMS events (sent, bounce, open, click) once a callback.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Infor CloudSuite through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Infor CloudSuite: Subject to the ION API gateway's rate limiting policies for the tenant.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud: Salesforce does not publish fixed numeric REST rate limits; requests are throttled per account and can return HTTP 429, so backoff is advised. SOAP Retrieve returns at most 2,500 records per call and pages via ContinueRequest with the prior RequestID. Bulk Data Extension writes use the async rows API to queue inserts in the background.

How the Infor CloudSuite and Salesforce Marketing Cloud connectors work

Infor CloudSuite

Integration surface
REST APIs exposed through the Infor ION API gateway; integration payloads are standardized as Business Object Documents (BODs)
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 via Infor OS / ION API credentials
Change detection
Event-style BOD publications through Infor ION where configured; otherwise polling
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
Subject to the ION API gateway's rate limiting policies for the tenant.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Integration surface
Two APIs on tenant-specific endpoints: a REST API (JSON over HTTPS) for Data Extensions, Journeys, Contacts, Content Builder, and Automations, plus a legacy SOAP API (ExactTarget WSDL) for tracking events and bulk Retrieve.
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 via an Installed Package (Client ID + Client Secret). Server-to-server uses the client_credentials grant and web apps use authorization_code, both against {subdomain}.auth.marketingcloudapis.com/v2/token. The 20-minute access token response also returns the account's rest_instance_url and soap_instance_url.
Change detection
The Event Notification Service (ENS) issues HTTPS POST callbacks for transactional Email and SMS events (sent, bounce, open, click) once a callback URL and subscription are registered and verified. There is no general data-change feed, so Data Extension and Data View syncs poll by date fields.
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Salesforce does not publish fixed numeric REST rate limits; requests are throttled per account and can return HTTP 429, so backoff is advised. SOAP Retrieve returns at most 2,500 records per call and pages via ContinueRequest with the prior RequestID. Bulk Data Extension writes use the async rows API to queue inserts in the background.
