Why teams connect Easypost and Xactly

Keep the customers and orders that Xactly and Easypost share aligned in real time, so sales works from live purchase history and the store works from current account details.

Xactly holds the customer relationship: the contacts, accounts, and deals a go-to-market team works. Easypost runs the buying side: who placed which order, what they bought, and where it ships. The two describe the same people and companies, and when they are connected only by exports, sales answers questions without recent orders in front of them while the store works from account details that changed weeks ago.

Stacksync links Products & Customers, Orders, Credits, Transactions (Commission & Bonus) in Xactly to Rate, Tracker, Batch, CarrierAccount in Easypost with bi-directional, real-time sync. New customers, order activity, and corrected contact details move in whichever direction you configure, field by field, with conflicts resolved by rules you set. A record created or changed on either side shows up on the other within seconds, with no CSV exports and no nightly job.

The shared entity is the customer, matched on email or an external ID, so both systems agree on who the buyer is and the order history sits next to the relationship instead of in a separate tab.

Common use cases

  • 01 Mirror commission Transactions and Credits into a data warehouse to power rep-facing dashboards and comp-plan analytics without manual exports.
  • 02 Sync Participants, Positions, Titles, and Quotas from an HRIS/HCM and planning tools into Xactly so the org hierarchy and targets stay aligned with headcount changes.
  • 03 Sync CarrierAccount configuration and negotiated rates so shipping options stay consistent across the storefront, ERP, and 3PL systems.
  • 04 Pull Shipment, Rate, and Refund records into a warehouse to report shipping cost per carrier and service and reclaim postage on labels that were never scanned.

Common sync patterns

Contact and address details stay consistent

An email, phone, or shipping and billing address corrected in either system updates the other, so the next order and the next outreach both use current information.

Where Xactly segments customers: status travels to the store record

Lifecycle stage, tier, or account owner set in Xactly syncs onto the customer record in Easypost, so the buying side can act on how the relationship is classified.

Where both keep product records: catalog and CRM products aligned

Where Xactly tracks products or line items and Easypost holds the catalog, shared items are matched on SKU so quotes, deals, and orders reference the same products.

What you can sync between Easypost and Xactly

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Easypost objects Xactly objects How this pairing syncs
CarrierAccount Carrier credentials and settings that control which carriers and negotiated rates are available; create, update, and delete to manage enabled carriers across accounts. Participants (Payees) Sales reps and payees keyed to positions; loaded and updated from HRIS/HCM source data through Connect (write) and read for roster reporting, so read and write. CarrierAccount is specific to Easypost and Participants (Payees) to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Webhook Event subscriptions delivering an Event via HTTP POST on object changes; full CRUD (create, retrieve, list, update, delete) and the mechanism for near-real-time change delivery to Stacksync. Positions & Titles Org-hierarchy positions and titles that credits and quotas roll up to; loaded and maintained through Connect (write) and read to resolve the hierarchy, so read and write. Webhook is specific to Easypost and Positions & Titles to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Shipment The central writable object: create with a to/from Address and Parcel, receive Rate options, then buy a label to get postage_label and tracking_code; retrieve and list with cursor pagination. Quotas / Targets Period quota and target values per position or plan; loaded from planning tools through Connect (write) and read for attainment reporting, so read and write. Shipment is specific to Easypost and Quotas / Targets to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Address Origin and destination locations; create, retrieve, and list, plus address verification (delivery and residential) to normalize and validate addresses before they are saved downstream. Payment Summary (Payable) Approved payable amounts per participant per period; read as the output that feeds payroll and accounts payable, so effectively read-only. Address is specific to Easypost and Payment Summary (Payable) to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Parcel Package dimensions and weight (or a predefined_package); created standalone or inline on a Shipment and reused across shipments and batches. Products & Customers Product and customer/account master used in crediting rules and reporting; loaded and updated from CRM/ERP through Connect (write) and read for lookups, so read and write. Parcel is specific to Easypost and Products & Customers to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Rate Carrier service and price options EasyPost generates on a Shipment; read-only - you select a rate id and buy it, you do not create or edit rates directly. Orders Sales order and transaction records loaded into Incent as the raw input for crediting and calculation; created and updated through Connect load and ETL steps (write) and read back for reconciliation, so read and write. Rate is specific to Easypost and Orders to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Easypost and Xactly

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Easypost Xactly Sub-second propagation

DetectionEasypost notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks deliver an Event via HTTP POST on object changes (e.g.

DeliveryEach detected change is applied to Xactly as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.

Xactly Easypost Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Xactly for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. No CDC log for external tools to consume.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Easypost through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Easypost: Fixed 5 requests/second on index (list) endpoints plus a dynamic load-based limiter protecting buy and rate operations; exceeding either returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests.
  • Xactly: Xactly does not publish numeric per-second rate limits. The Connect platform enforces query concurrency and long-running-query limits, so large extracts are paged and heavy loads/queries run as asynchronous Connect jobs (submit, then retrieve results) rather than row-by-row calls; batch loads are the supported path for high volume.

Xactly

Integration surface
Xactly Connect REST API v2 (JSON), plus ODBC/JDBC drivers over the same ANSI-SQL data model. Incent data is exposed as SQL-queryable objects (for example xactly_order, xactly_credit, xactly_transaction, xactly_payment); data is loaded and extracted through Connect load/query steps and server-side ETL Pipelines. The base host is region/pod-specific (for example https://<pod>.xactlycorp.com).
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 via the Xactly Connect API Gateway (bearer tokens issued on behalf of an Xactly Incent user), with HTTP Basic authentication using a dedicated Xactly Connect service-user's credentials also supported for the Connect REST API v2. The connecting user needs Connect/API access plus the relevant object permissions in Incent.
Change detection
No CDC log for external tools to consume. Incremental sync uses SQL predicates on modified/last-updated timestamp columns (for example WHERE modified_date > watermark) against Connect's queryable objects, or scheduled Connect ETL Pipelines that pull deltas since the last run. Xactly Connect has no outbound HTTP webhooks, so change detection is pull/ETL-based.
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
Xactly does not publish numeric per-second rate limits. The Connect platform enforces query concurrency and long-running-query limits, so large extracts are paged and heavy loads/queries run as asynchronous Connect jobs (submit, then retrieve results) rather than row-by-row calls; batch loads are the supported path for high volume.
