Two-way sync
Changes in Auth0 or Smartsheet instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Auth0 and Smartsheet in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Auth0 is where a company records who its people are: their accounts, the groups and roles they hold, and the attributes attached to each one. Smartsheet is where a slice of those same people do their work, as agents, members, or seats, and every one of them needs a matching account with the right access. When a directory and a productivity tool are maintained by hand, someone added, moved, or offboarded in one becomes a stale entry in the other within the hour.
Stacksync syncs Reports, Attachments, Discussions and Comments, Users and Groups in Smartsheet with Organizations, Organization Members, Connections, Clients (Applications) in Auth0 bi-directionally and in real time. A user created, renamed, moved between groups, or deactivated in either system updates the matching record in the other within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV uploads and nightly IT batch jobs.
That matters most at the edges of employment. When both systems agree on who has an account, which groups they belong to, and whether they are still active, granting access on day one and revoking it on the last day stops being a manual checklist that trails the directory.
People matched across both systems on email or an external ID stay linked, so every account and action in Smartsheet ties back to the right identity in Auth0.
A user added to Auth0, or moved into a group inside it, gets the matching account or membership created in Smartsheet, so a new hire can start working without a separate setup ticket.
When a user is disabled or removed in Auth0, their account in Smartsheet is deactivated in step, so offboarding shuts down access everywhere instead of leaving a live login behind.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Auth0 objects | Smartsheet objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Users Core identity records with profile fields plus user_metadata and app_metadata; synced two-way (create, update, delete) via /api/v2/users. Credentials are never returned. | Sheets The core container; each sheet has typed columns, rows, and a modifiedAt stamp. Stacksync treats a sheet as a table and syncs its rows two-way. | Users is specific to Auth0 and Sheets to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Roles RBAC role definitions and their permissions; synced with a database to audit which users hold which access, and assigned to Users from either side. | Rows Records inside a sheet, each with createdAt/modifiedAt and cells keyed by columnId; the primary unit synced to and from external tables. | Roles is specific to Auth0 and Rows to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Organizations B2B customer tenants under /api/v2/organizations; synced two-way with a CRM or customer database to keep account records aligned with Auth0 orgs. | Columns Define sheet schema and cell type (TEXT_NUMBER, DATE, CONTACT_LIST, PICKLIST, CHECKBOX); read via the API so field mappings can be generated. | Organizations is specific to Auth0 and Columns to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Organization Members Membership records linking Users to Organizations with roles; written to provision and deprovision access as accounts change. | Cells Row-by-column values; writes must match the column type and no single cell can exceed 4,000 characters. | Organization Members is specific to Auth0 and Cells to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Connections Identity-provider configs (database, social, enterprise SAML/OIDC); typically read out to inventory how each tenant authenticates. | Reports Read-only roll-ups spanning multiple sheets; pulled into a warehouse for cross-sheet reporting, capped at 50,000 rows. | Connections is specific to Auth0 and Reports to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Clients (Applications) Registered applications and their metadata under /api/v2/clients; mirrored to a database for app and credential inventories. | Attachments Files linked to rows or sheets; posting one carries a 10x rate cost, so bulk file sync is throttled to 30 per minute. | Clients (Applications) is specific to Auth0 and Attachments to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionAuth0 notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Smartsheet through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionSmartsheet notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Sheet-scoped webhooks subscribed to *.* events notify on row and cell changes.

Real-time sync, workflow automation, event queues, EDI, and monitoring, for every Auth0–Smartsheet connection.
Changes in Auth0 or Smartsheet instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Trigger automated workflows whenever Auth0 or Smartsheet data changes, update records, fire webhooks, or kick off sequences without brittle API scripts.
Handle millions of events per minute without losing a single Auth0 or Smartsheet record.
Track your Auth0 ⇄ Smartsheet sync health, view errors, and replay failed events in one click.
Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between Auth0 and Smartsheet.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Auth0 and Smartsheet with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Auth0 and Smartsheet objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Auth0 and Smartsheet: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Auth0's Users and Roles), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Change detection on Auth0: Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge; polling falls back to the Get Users search filtered on updated_at. On Smartsheet: Sheet-scoped webhooks subscribed to *.* events notify on row and cell changes; otherwise polling on sheet and row modifiedAt timestamps. Each detected change propagates to the other side in milliseconds, with field-level conflict resolution and an inspectable event log.
On the Smartsheet side: Reports, Attachments, Discussions and Comments, Users and Groups, plus custom fields where Smartsheet exposes them. On the Auth0 side: Organizations, Organization Members, Connections, Clients (Applications). Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Auth0 and Smartsheet: One record per person; Provision access when someone joins; Close access when someone leaves. People matched across both systems on email or an external ID stay linked, so every account and action in Smartsheet ties back to the right identity in Auth0.
Auth0: Management API v2 (REST); Authentication API issues the access token. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials from a machine-to-machine application; scoped Bearer JWT where each operation needs its own scope (e.g. read:users, create:users, update:users) or returns 403. Smartsheet: REST API (v2.0). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 authorization-code flow, or a raw/personal API access token passed as a Bearer header. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
