Two-way sync
Changes in Marketo or Stripe instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Marketo and Stripe in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Stripe records the money — who pays, how much, and whether they are current; Marketo decides who hears from the business and what they hear. The two overlap wherever the same customers and contacts matter to both, and when that overlap is bridged by CSV exports or an overnight batch, campaigns target on stale billing data and finance works from lists marketing has already changed underneath it.
Stacksync syncs Disputes, Payouts, Balance Transactions, Events in Stripe with Smart Campaigns, Leads, Companies, Opportunities and Opportunity Roles in Marketo field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — finance keeps the revenue and payment truth, marketing keeps consent and engagement — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.
Where both systems keep customer or contact records, an edit on either side propagates to the other, ending dual maintenance and the drift it creates.
Registrants, form fills, or leads created in Marketo create or update the matching customer or contact in Stripe, so billing and reporting start from accurate details without re-entry.
Trial, renewal, churn, or payment state from Stripe updates the contact in Marketo, so lifecycle campaigns and audience suppression run on current billing reality.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Marketo objects | Stripe objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Companies Company records linked to Leads via a company link field; read and upserted through /rest/v1/companies.json, typically mastered in a CRM or ERP and written into Marketo for account context. | Disputes Chargebacks that support and finance teams track in their own tools. | Companies is specific to Marketo and Disputes to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Opportunities and Opportunity Roles Revenue objects synced via /rest/v1/opportunities.json and /rest/v1/opportunities/roles.json; roles associate an opportunity with a Lead, so pipeline data can drive nurture and scoring. | Payouts Bank transfers reconciled against balance transactions during close. | Opportunities and Opportunity Roles is specific to Marketo and Payouts to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Custom Objects Auxiliary data tables described via /rest/v1/customobjects.json and read/written via /rest/v1/customobjects/{apiName}.json, linked to Leads by a dedupe/link field so campaigns branch on records like purchases or subscriptions. | Balance Transactions The ledger entries behind every money movement, the basis for reconciliation. | Custom Objects is specific to Marketo and Balance Transactions to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Activities and Lead Changes Engagement feed (opens, clicks, form fills, Data Value Changes) read via GET /rest/v1/activities.json using a paging token from /rest/v1/activities/pagingtoken.json (sinceDatetime), plus Get Lead Changes and Get Deleted Leads; read-only, also available via async Bulk Activity Extract. | Events The change log; each state change is an Event retrievable via the API. | Activities and Lead Changes is specific to Marketo and Events to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Static Lists Named static lists; read via /rest/v1/lists.json, with Leads added or removed via POST and DELETE on /rest/v1/lists/{listId}/leads.json to control campaign membership from lifecycle logic computed downstream. | Customers The billing identity most teams match against CRM accounts and contacts. | Static Lists is specific to Marketo and Customers to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Programs and Program Members Marketing programs read via /rest/v1/programs.json; program membership and member status managed via /rest/v1/leads/programs/{programId}.json and the program status endpoint for acquisition and attribution reporting. | PaymentIntents The lifecycle record of a payment attempt, from creation to success or failure. | Programs and Program Members is specific to Marketo and PaymentIntents to Stripe — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Marketo for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling: Get Lead Changes and Get Lead Activities from a paging token seeded by a sinceDatetime, plus Get Deleted Leads, or Bulk Extract filtered on.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Stripe through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionStripe notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks backed by the Events API.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Marketo and Stripe with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Marketo and Stripe objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Marketo and Stripe: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Marketo's Companies and Opportunities and Opportunity Roles), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Marketo and Stripe: One customer and contact list; Where Marketo captures new people: clean records flow to finance; Where Stripe tracks lifecycle state: keep Marketo current. Where both systems keep customer or contact records, an edit on either side propagates to the other, ending dual maintenance and the drift it creates.
Marketo: Marketo REST API (JSON over HTTPS) for Leads, Companies, Opportunities, Custom Objects, Activities, Lists, Programs, and Campaigns, plus an asynchronous Bulk Import (leads) and Bulk Extract (leads/activities/program members/custom objects) API and an Asset REST API for emails, forms, and landing pages. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client_credentials (2-legged): GET the Identity URL /oauth/token?grant_type=client_credentials with a Custom Service client_id and client_secret to receive an access token valid for 3600 seconds, then send it as Authorization: Bearer on each call. The instance base URL is https://{munchkinId}.mktorest.com; passing the token as an access_token query parameter is deprecated (removal July 31, 2026). Stripe: REST API. Authentication: API keys (secret and restricted keys); OAuth 2.0 for Stripe Connect platforms. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Stripe: Every state change emits an Event object retrievable from /v1/events, so webhook delivery is backed by a replayable log. Marketo: Bulk Extract for leads, activities, program members, and custom objects is asynchronous (create, enqueue, poll, then stream the file) and shares a 500 MB/day export quota with a maximum of 2 concurrent jobs and 10 queued. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Marketo and Stripe without custom code.
