Two-way sync
Changes in Ironclad or Rillet instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Ironclad and Rillet in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Rillet holds the financial truth: who the customers are, what they were billed, what they paid. Ironclad is where part of the day-to-day work happens, and that work often involves the same customers and transactions. Without a live connection, the two drift apart, and people end up answering questions from stale copies.
Stacksync keeps Bill, Journal Entry, Invoice Payment, Charge in Rillet and Records, Entities, Obligations, Webhooks in Ironclad in sync, bi-directionally and in real time. Whatever records Ironclad keeps and whatever events it produces, the overlap with Rillet is mapped field by field, and a change on either side shows up on the other within seconds.
There is no middleware to build, no API rate limits to babysit, and no nightly job that leaves the morning running on yesterday's data.
Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Rillet next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.
Payment and charge activity flows into Rillet as it happens, so the books reflect reality without manual reconciliation.
A customer's details updated in either system update the other, so finance and the rest of the business stop maintaining two versions of the same customer.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Ironclad objects | Rillet objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entities Structured records for counterparties and other parties linked to workflows and records; read and written to keep company and vendor master data aligned with a CRM or ERP. | Charge Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Entities is specific to Ironclad and Charge to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Obligations Post-signature commitments, milestones, and renewal dates tied to contracts; synced two-way to drive renewal, compliance, and finance reporting in downstream systems. | Reimbursement Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Obligations is specific to Ironclad and Reimbursement to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Webhooks Event subscriptions that push workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment changes to Stacksync in near real time; created, listed, and deleted through the API across 40+ event types. | Custom Field Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Webhooks is specific to Ironclad and Custom Field to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflow Approvals Per-workflow approval requests and their state; read to report approval status and cycle time, and status changes arrive live through the workflow_approval_status_changed event. | Account Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Workflow Approvals is specific to Ironclad and Account to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Signature Packets The e-signature packets on a workflow (sent, signatures collected, fully signed); read to track signing progress, with packet events delivered by webhook for real-time status. | Customer Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Signature Packets is specific to Ironclad and Customer to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflow Documents Draft and executed documents attached to a workflow; retrieved to pull generated or signed files out into a document store or archive. | Vendor Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Workflow Documents is specific to Ironclad and Vendor to Rillet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionIronclad notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Rillet through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionRillet pushes changes as they happen — webhook events backed by change data capture. Near real-time updates via change tracking.

Authenticate Ironclad and Rillet with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Ironclad and Rillet objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Ironclad and Rillet: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Ironclad's Entities and Obligations), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Ironclad and Rillet: Where Ironclad handles customer conversations: billing context in view; Where Ironclad collects payments or triggers charges: events land in Rillet; Where Ironclad tracks people or companies: one identity. Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Rillet next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.
Ironclad: REST/JSON Public API (CLM API) at https://na1.ironcladapp.com/public/api/v1 (NA1 and EU1 regions plus a demo/sandbox), with a native Webhooks subscription API; described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22. Rillet: REST API (OpenAPI-specified, with production and sandbox environments). Authentication: API key generated in Rillet (Organization Setting -> API Access); uncheck Read Only for bidirectional sync, check Read Only for one-way sync. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Rillet: Rillet is built for SaaS companies, with a general ledger organized around automated revenue recognition and month-end close. Ironclad: Rate limits are per account per minute and differ by endpoint - for example GET Records is 600/min but POST/PATCH Workflows only 40/min - and exceeding one returns HTTP 429. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Ironclad and Rillet without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Ironclad and Rillet records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Ironclad and Rillet connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Ironclad–Rillet integration in-house.
