Two-way sync
Changes in Ironclad or Notion instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Ironclad and Notion in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Two tools in the daily stack often hold overlapping information: the same people, the same companies, or the same pieces of work, described twice. The tools do different jobs, so consolidating is not the answer; the overlap just needs to stop drifting.
Stacksync syncs Workflow Approvals, Signature Packets, Workflow Documents, Workflows in Ironclad with Properties, Blocks, Formula and Rollup properties, Users in Notion in real time. You choose which records overlap, map the fields that should match, and pick a direction or let changes flow both ways. From then on, an update made in either tool is reflected in the other within seconds, without exports or copy-paste.
Because the sync is field-level, each tool keeps its own extras; only the shared data is held in agreement.
Payments, replies, messages, or tickets created in one tool can create or update matching records in the other, keeping context in one place.
Information that originates in Ironclad stays current in Notion instead of going stale after a one-time paste.
When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Ironclad objects | Notion objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entities Structured records for counterparties and other parties linked to workflows and records; read and written to keep company and vendor master data aligned with a CRM or ERP. | Users Workspace members and bots referenced by people properties; read-only — users cannot be created or invited through the API. | Entities is specific to Ironclad and Users to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Obligations Post-signature commitments, milestones, and renewal dates tied to contracts; synced two-way to drive renewal, compliance, and finance reporting in downstream systems. | Comments Page and inline discussion threads; can be read and created, useful for surfacing Notion activity in another system. | Obligations is specific to Ironclad and Comments to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Webhooks Event subscriptions that push workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment changes to Stacksync in near real time; created, listed, and deleted through the API across 40+ event types. | Files and attachments File-property and file-block values. Notion-hosted URLs are temporary and expire, so files are re-fetched or copied at sync time. | Webhooks is specific to Ironclad and Files and attachments to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflow Approvals Per-workflow approval requests and their state; read to report approval status and cycle time, and status changes arrive live through the workflow_approval_status_changed event. | Pages The core content unit and also every row of a database; synced two-way as records, with typed properties mapping to table columns. | Workflow Approvals is specific to Ironclad and Pages to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Signature Packets The e-signature packets on a workflow (sent, signatures collected, fully signed); read to track signing progress, with packet events delivered by webhook for real-time status. | Databases / Data sources Collections of pages with a typed property schema. Since the 2025-09-03 API a database is a container holding one or more data sources; syncs target a specific data_source_id. | Signature Packets is specific to Ironclad and Databases / Data sources to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflow Documents Draft and executed documents attached to a workflow; retrieved to pull generated or signed files out into a document store or archive. | Properties Typed columns on a page — title, rich_text, number, select, multi_select, date, people, relation, status, checkbox, URL. Read and written both ways. | Workflow Documents is specific to Ironclad and Properties to Notion — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionIronclad notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Notion through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionNotion notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Workspace webhooks (page.created, page.content_updated, data_source.schema_updated, comment.created.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Ironclad through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Ironclad and Notion with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Ironclad and Notion objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Ironclad and Notion: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Ironclad's Entities and Obligations), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Ironclad: The Public API is write-capable: you can launch and bulk-launch workflows, update workflow attributes, and create, update, or delete records, entities, and obligations - it is not a read-only export. Notion: Formula and rollup property values are computed by Notion and are read-only; they cannot be written back. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Ironclad and Notion without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Ironclad and Notion records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Ironclad and Notion connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Ironclad–Notion integration in-house.
Yes — Stacksync ships production-grade connectors for both Ironclad and Notion. The connectors handle authentication, schema detection, rate limits, and retries; you configure the sync, and Stacksync operates it.
Change detection on Ironclad: Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing endpoint up to 10 times over about 13.6 hours with exponential backoff. Otherwise poll the list endpoints by last-updated. There is no database change-data-capture log. On Notion: Workspace webhooks (page.created, page.content_updated, data_source.schema_updated, comment.created; HMAC-SHA256 signed) plus polling on each page's last_edited_time. Each detected change propagates to the other side in milliseconds, with field-level conflict resolution and an inspectable event log.
