Two-way sync
Changes in Gainsight or Ironclad instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Gainsight and Ironclad in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Two tools in the daily stack often hold overlapping information: the same people, the same companies, or the same pieces of work, described twice. The tools do different jobs, so consolidating is not the answer; the overlap just needs to stop drifting.
Stacksync syncs Timeline Activity, Success Plan, Task and Playbook, Custom Objects in Gainsight with Workflow Documents, Workflows, Records, Entities in Ironclad in real time. You choose which records overlap, map the fields that should match, and pick a direction or let changes flow both ways. From then on, an update made in either tool is reflected in the other within seconds, without exports or copy-paste.
Because the sync is field-level, each tool keeps its own extras; only the shared data is held in agreement.
When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Contact and company details corrected in either tool update the other, so nobody works from the old version.
Payments, replies, messages, or tickets created in one tool can create or update matching records in the other, keeping context in one place.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Gainsight objects | Ironclad objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom Objects Org-specific MDA tables with the __gc suffix; discoverable via the Describe API so field mappings can be generated automatically. | Obligations Post-signature commitments, milestones, and renewal dates tied to contracts; synced two-way to drive renewal, compliance, and finance reporting in downstream systems. | Custom Objects is specific to Gainsight and Obligations to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Company Customer/account master in Gainsight CS; two-way synced with CRM and warehouse customer tables to keep ARR, owner, and renewal fields aligned. | Webhooks Event subscriptions that push workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment changes to Stacksync in near real time; created, listed, and deleted through the API across 40+ event types. | Company is specific to Gainsight and Webhooks to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Person (People) Contacts associated to companies through the Company Person junction; synced two-way with CRM contacts and warehouse person records. | Workflow Approvals Per-workflow approval requests and their state; read to report approval status and cycle time, and status changes arrive live through the workflow_approval_status_changed event. | Person (People) is specific to Gainsight and Workflow Approvals to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Relationship Sub-units within a company for multi-product or multi-team accounts; synced so each maps to the right contract in billing or an ERP. | Signature Packets The e-signature packets on a workflow (sent, signatures collected, fully signed); read to track signing progress, with packet events delivered by webhook for real-time status. | Relationship is specific to Gainsight and Signature Packets to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| CTA (Call to Action) Risk and expansion alerts that drive CSM plays; often synced to ticketing or project tools so follow-up work is tracked where teams operate. | Workflow Documents Draft and executed documents attached to a workflow; retrieved to pull generated or signed files out into a document store or archive. | CTA (Call to Action) is specific to Gainsight and Workflow Documents to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Scorecard Fact Health scores and measures per Company or Relationship; usage metrics from a warehouse are written in so scores reflect live telemetry. | Workflows The core unit of Ironclad: a live contract process (NDA, MSA, order form) moving through creation, review, approval, and signature. Launched via POST, updated via PATCH, and read for status, so contract processes move two-way between Ironclad and a database, CRM, or ERP. | Scorecard Fact is specific to Gainsight and Workflows to Ironclad — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Gainsight for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on the ModifiedDate (GS Modified Date) system field, which is filterable and sortable on every object.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Ironclad through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionIronclad notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Gainsight and Ironclad with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Gainsight and Ironclad objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Gainsight and Ironclad: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Gainsight's Custom Objects and Company), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Gainsight and Ironclad: Handoffs between teams; Where both tools track people or companies: one consistent record; Where one tool produces events: mirror them in the other. When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Gainsight: REST APIs (per-object) and asynchronous Bulk REST API. Authentication: API access key passed in the 'accesskey' request header (non-expiring), generated by a Gainsight admin; M2M OAuth (Client ID/Secret) is also supported. Ironclad: REST/JSON Public API (CLM API) at https://na1.ironcladapp.com/public/api/v1 (NA1 and EU1 regions plus a demo/sandbox), with a native Webhooks subscription API; described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Gainsight: Person records associate to Company via the Company Person object and to Relationship via Relationship Person; those junctions must be maintained for contacts to resolve correctly. Ironclad: OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code with PKCE or Client Credentials) is the only supported auth; the legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22 and access tokens expire after 6 hours. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Gainsight and Ironclad without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Gainsight and Ironclad records are not retained after a sync operation.
