Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionIntercom notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhook topic subscriptions for contact, company, and conversation events, plus polling for backfill.

Common patterns for Intercom and Ironclad: Where Ironclad supplies contact or company data; Where Ironclad processes payments; Where Ironclad can store CRM context: fields kept current. Enriched fields land directly on records in Intercom, and refreshes keep them from going stale.
Intercom: REST API. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 for public apps or a workspace access token. Ironclad: REST/JSON Public API (CLM API) at https://na1.ironcladapp.com/public/api/v1 (NA1 and EU1 regions plus a demo/sandbox), with a native Webhooks subscription API; described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Ironclad: The Public API is write-capable: you can launch and bulk-launch workflows, update workflow attributes, and create, update, or delete records, entities, and obligations - it is not a read-only export. Intercom: Intercom's Contacts API unifies users and leads into one object with a role attribute, replacing the older separate users and leads endpoints. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Intercom and Ironclad without custom code.
