Two-way sync
Changes in Firebase or Marketo instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Firebase and Marketo in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Marketo holds the people, audiences, and campaign activity that marketing runs on, but that data sits behind interfaces built for marketers, not for your internal systems. Engineers and analysts who need contacts, list membership, or engagement, for reporting, attribution, or product logic, end up writing integration code against a rate-limited API and maintaining it forever. Meanwhile the customer and usage data marketers want for targeting already lives in Firebase, hard to get into campaigns without manual exports.
Stacksync mirrors Activities and Lead Changes, Static Lists, Programs and Program Members, Smart Campaigns from Marketo into Firestore Collections, Firestore Documents, Subcollections, Realtime Database Nodes in Firebase field by field, in real time, and in both directions. Marketing records become rows your code can query and join with product and customer data; audiences and attributes computed in Firebase, from usage, orders, or account status, sync back into Marketo to drive campaigns and ads, with Marketo kept authoritative for engagement. You decide which side owns which fields, and Stacksync resolves conflicts by rules you set.
Lifecycle stage, subscription status, or plan maintained on either side stays current on the other, ending exports and dual data entry.
Contacts, leads, audiences, and campaign metrics from Marketo live in Firebase as ordinary tables or collections, joinable with the rest of your data and reachable without touching the vendor API.
Segments computed in Firebase from product usage, orders, or account status sync into Marketo as lists or audiences, so campaigns and ads target the people your data says they should.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Firebase objects | Marketo objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subcollections Nested collections under documents, typically flattened into related tables during sync. | Static Lists Named static lists; read via /rest/v1/lists.json, with Leads added or removed via POST and DELETE on /rest/v1/lists/{listId}/leads.json to control campaign membership from lifecycle logic computed downstream. | Subcollections is specific to Firebase and Static Lists to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Realtime Database Nodes JSON tree paths in the older Realtime Database, synced by path. | Programs and Program Members Marketing programs read via /rest/v1/programs.json; program membership and member status managed via /rest/v1/leads/programs/{programId}.json and the program status endpoint for acquisition and attribution reporting. | Realtime Database Nodes is specific to Firebase and Programs and Program Members to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Authentication Users User accounts read into CRMs and warehouses for customer records. | Smart Campaigns Automation flows read via /rest/v1/campaigns.json and run against a set of Leads by requesting a trigger campaign with POST /rest/v1/campaigns/{id}/trigger.json, so downstream logic can push Leads into a Marketo flow. | Authentication Users is specific to Firebase and Smart Campaigns to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Cloud Storage Objects Files referenced from documents; usually synced as metadata plus URLs. | Leads Core person records (called Leads/People), deduped on email address by default or a configured dedupe field; read via GET /rest/v1/leads.json with a filterType, upserted via POST /rest/v1/leads.json (action createOrUpdate/createOnly/updateOnly), bulk-imported via CSV through POST /bulk/v1/leads.json, and bulk-exported via /bulk/v1/leads/export/create.json. | Cloud Storage Objects is specific to Firebase and Leads to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Cloud Functions Triggers Server-side hooks that fire on document changes and can push updates outward. | Companies Company records linked to Leads via a company link field; read and upserted through /rest/v1/companies.json, typically mastered in a CRM or ERP and written into Marketo for account context. | Cloud Functions Triggers is specific to Firebase and Companies to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Firestore Collections Top-level groupings of documents that a sync maps to tables or SaaS objects. | Opportunities and Opportunity Roles Revenue objects synced via /rest/v1/opportunities.json and /rest/v1/opportunities/roles.json; roles associate an opportunity with a Lead, so pipeline data can drive nurture and scoring. | Firestore Collections is specific to Firebase and Opportunities and Opportunity Roles to Marketo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Firebase for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Real-time snapshot listeners on Firestore queries and Cloud Functions triggers on document changes.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Marketo through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Real-time sync, workflow automation, event queues, EDI, and monitoring, for every Firebase–Marketo connection.
Changes in Firebase or Marketo instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Trigger automated workflows whenever Firebase or Marketo data changes, update records, fire webhooks, or kick off sequences without brittle API scripts.
Handle millions of events per minute without losing a single Firebase or Marketo record.
Track your Firebase ⇄ Marketo sync health, view errors, and replay failed events in one click.
Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between Firebase and Marketo.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Firebase and Marketo with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Firebase and Marketo objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Firebase and Marketo: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Firebase's Subcollections and Realtime Database Nodes), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Firebase and Marketo: Keep contact attributes consistent; Query Marketo like a database; Build audiences from your own data. Lifecycle stage, subscription status, or plan maintained on either side stays current on the other, ending exports and dual data entry.
Firebase: REST and gRPC APIs, typically accessed through the Firebase Admin SDK. Authentication: Google service account credentials (IAM) for server-side access; Firebase Auth tokens for client contexts. Marketo: Marketo REST API (JSON over HTTPS) for Leads, Companies, Opportunities, Custom Objects, Activities, Lists, Programs, and Campaigns, plus an asynchronous Bulk Import (leads) and Bulk Extract (leads/activities/program members/custom objects) API and an Asset REST API for emails, forms, and landing pages. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client_credentials (2-legged): GET the Identity URL /oauth/token?grant_type=client_credentials with a Custom Service client_id and client_secret to receive an access token valid for 3600 seconds, then send it as Authorization: Bearer on each call. The instance base URL is https://{munchkinId}.mktorest.com; passing the token as an access_token query parameter is deprecated (removal July 31, 2026). Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Firebase: Snapshot listeners deliver document changes to connected clients in real time, which is the platform's native change-notification mechanism. Marketo: Bulk Extract for leads, activities, program members, and custom objects is asynchronous (create, enqueue, poll, then stream the file) and shares a 500 MB/day export quota with a maximum of 2 concurrent jobs and 10 queued. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Firebase and Marketo without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Firebase and Marketo records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Firebase and Marketo connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Firebase–Marketo integration in-house.
