Why teams connect Clari and Ukg Pro

Keep the people who own accounts in Clari in step with the workforce records in Ukg Pro, so ownership, roles, and org structure stay current in both systems, in real time and in both directions.

Clari runs on people as much as on accounts: every contact, deal, and account has an owner, and those owners are employees whose roles, teams, and status are held in Ukg Pro. Ukg Pro is the system of record for the workforce, from new hires to promotions to departures, and often for the candidates the business is still deciding on. When the two systems are connected only by re-keying or an overnight export, they drift apart, and the CRM ends up assigning accounts to people who have left, holding territories that no longer match the org chart, and waiting days to give a new rep access.

Stacksync syncs Account field extensions, Opportunity field extensions, Audit Events, Forecast in Clari with Employee (Person Details), Employment Details, Job / Position History, Compensation Details in Ukg Pro field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields, so Ukg Pro stays authoritative on roles and org structure while Clari keeps ownership and territory current, and Stacksync resolves conflicts by the rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Write warehouse-computed health scores and usage metrics onto Clari Opportunity records as field extensions via the ingest API so deal reviews show product signals.
  • 02 Enrich Clari Account records with firmographic or billing data points through the ingest API in incremental mode.
  • 03 Keep Configuration code tables (jobs, locations, departments, cost centers) aligned between UKG Pro and an ERP so org and cost-center hierarchies match.
  • 04 Two-way sync of Employee and Job Details (position, department, supervisor, location, cost center) into Postgres so provisioning, internal apps, and analytics read current worker and org data in SQL while HR edits in UKG Pro.

Common sync patterns

Where Ukg Pro tracks people the business also engages: contacts stay in sync

A person recorded in Ukg Pro, such as a candidate or applicant, can create or update the matching contact in Clari, so relationship history and outreach are not rebuilt from scratch when the same individual appears in both.

New team members provisioned when they are hired

When Ukg Pro records a new hire, a matching user or owner is created in Clari, so a new rep can start working accounts without waiting on a manual setup ticket.

Ownership and territory follow the org chart

When a person changes team, manager, or region in Ukg Pro, their accounts and territory assignments in Clari update to match, so pipeline stays with the right owner.

What you can sync between Clari and Ukg Pro

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Clari objects Ukg Pro objects How this pairing syncs
Account field extensions External data points written onto Account records through the ingest API in initial or incremental mode; requires an apikey plus a partnerkey. Job / Position History Effective-dated job, position, department, supervisor, location, and cost center; the most-synced record for org charts, provisioning, and analytics. Account field extensions is specific to Clari and Job / Position History to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Opportunity field extensions Warehouse-computed fields pushed onto Opportunity records via the ingest API; up to 100 records per request or 10MB bulk files. Compensation Details Effective-dated pay rate and salary; usually read into a warehouse for comp reporting and writable as new dated changes through the compensation endpoints. Opportunity field extensions is specific to Clari and Compensation Details to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Audit Events User edits and system events exported with filtering by actor, session, and date range; read-only feed for change tracking and compliance. Payroll (Pay Statements, Direct Deposit, Earnings) Pay statements, direct-deposit accounts, and earnings history; read-only pay data replicated into finance and warehouse systems for labor-cost reporting. Audit Events is specific to Clari and Payroll (Pay Statements, Direct Deposit, Earnings) to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Forecast Exported per forecast tab and fiscal period via async jobs; includes submitted forecast calls, updates, manager adjustments, and CRM totals. Read-only. Terminations Termination transactions posted with a terminationDate and a reason code that must match the tenant's configured reason table; drives account deprovisioning. Forecast is specific to Clari and Terminations to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Quota Quota and quota-history values exported alongside forecast data, scoped by fiscal quarter; read-only, useful for warehouse attainment reporting. Configuration Setup (Code Tables) Reference data such as jobs, locations, positions, earnings, and deduction codes; used to resolve and validate field values when mapping records during sync. Quota is specific to Clari and Configuration Setup (Code Tables) to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Opportunities Retrieved synchronously by ID from GET /opportunity (up to 100 IDs per call) with Clari CRM scoring and field-change history; read-only, mirroring the CRM opportunity Clari sits on. Time & Attendance (UTA) Timekeeping and worked-hours data exposed by the UTA services; synced into scheduling, payroll, or workforce-analytics databases. Opportunities is specific to Clari and Time & Attendance (UTA) to Ukg Pro — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Clari and Ukg Pro

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Clari Ukg Pro Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Clari for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling — reads run as asynchronous export jobs (submit export, poll job status, download results).

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Ukg Pro through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Ukg Pro Clari Sub-second propagation

DetectionUkg Pro notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. No CDC stream.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Clari through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Clari: Max 3 concurrent exports and roughly 1000 exports per rolling 30-day org window; ingestion capped at 100 requests/sec per API token.
  • Ukg Pro: An API gateway throttles calls per client over a rolling window (typically per minute); UKG does not publish exact numeric thresholds. Exceeding the limit returns HTTP 429, and UKG recommends a roughly one-second looping backoff before resuming (a Retry-After header is not yet standard). Reads are offset-paginated.

How the Clari and Ukg Pro connectors work

Clari

Integration surface
REST APIs on api.clari.com - Export API (v4, asynchronous bulk jobs for forecast, quota, activity, and audit) and Ingest API (v2, field extensions); Opportunity reads are synchronous via GET /opportunity
Authentication
API token in the apikey header, generated per user in Settings; ingest/partner endpoints also require a partnerkey header, and Copilot endpoints require X-Api-Key and X-Api-Password
Change detection
Polling — reads run as asynchronous export jobs (submit export, poll job status, download results); the ingest API supports an incremental mode for regular field updates. No webhooks.
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
Max 3 concurrent exports and roughly 1000 exports per rolling 30-day org window; ingestion capped at 100 requests/sec per API token.

Ukg Pro

Integration surface
REST API (UKG Pro HCM REST services) with separate Onboarding and Recruiting REST APIs, plus legacy SOAP-based UKG Pro Web Services
Authentication
Core HCM REST APIs use HTTP Basic authentication with a dedicated web service account, plus a Customer API Key and a User API Key sent as headers (found under System Configuration > Security > Service Account Administration); the Onboarding and Recruiting REST APIs instead require a bearer Authorization Token from the token endpoint.
Change detection
No CDC stream. UKG Pro publishes Pro HCM Webhook Events for changes such as new hire, employee and job detail changes, termination, and PTO, which Stacksync subscribes to for near-real-time triggers; bulk and historical loads use paged reads with each service's modified-since filters.
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
An API gateway throttles calls per client over a rolling window (typically per minute); UKG does not publish exact numeric thresholds. Exceeding the limit returns HTTP 429, and UKG recommends a roughly one-second looping backoff before resuming (a Retry-After header is not yet standard). Reads are offset-paginated.
