Why teams connect Auth0 and QAD ERP

Keep the employee, group, and account records that QAD ERP and Auth0 share aligned in real time, so a person added, moved, or offboarded in one system shows up correctly in the other within seconds.

An ERP and an identity system describe the same workforce from two angles. QAD ERP holds the authoritative record of who works at the company, and often their department, title, manager, and cost center. Auth0 controls the accounts, groups, and access those same people use every day. When the two aren't connected, every hire, transfer, and departure has to be keyed twice, and the window between someone leaving in QAD ERP and their account still being active in Auth0 is a real security exposure.

Stacksync syncs Inventory balances, General ledger transactions, Items, Customers in QAD ERP with Organization Members, Connections, Clients (Applications), Resource Servers (APIs) in Auth0 in real time, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV exports and nightly jobs. A new hire, a department change, or a termination propagates within seconds, and where you want changes to flow both ways — the ERP's org data into the directory, account status back into the ERP — the same mapping handles it.

That matters most at offboarding and audit time. When the directory reflects the ERP's current headcount and org structure, disabling access no longer depends on someone remembering to update a second system, and access reviews start from a roster both sides already agree on.

Common use cases

  • 01 Push EDI orders from trading partners into QAD as sales orders.
  • 02 Keep supplier and purchase-order records aligned with procurement or AP automation tools.
  • 03 Stream Log Events for logins, signups, and failed authentications into a warehouse for security monitoring and authentication funnel reporting.
  • 04 Sync Organizations and their Connections into a customer database so B2B account records stay aligned with Auth0 tenants.

Common sync patterns

Create accounts from new records

A person added in one system gets a matching account or record in the other automatically, so a new hire can be granted access without anyone re-keying their details.

Disable access at offboarding

When a person is marked terminated or inactive in one system, the matching account is disabled in the other within seconds, closing the gap that leaves ex-employees with live access.

Keep profile attributes current

A name, email, title, manager, or department corrected in either system updates the other, so directory entries and employee records don't drift apart.

What you can sync between Auth0 and QAD ERP

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Auth0 objects QAD ERP objects How this pairing syncs
Users Core identity records with profile fields plus user_metadata and app_metadata; synced two-way (create, update, delete) via /api/v2/users. Credentials are never returned. Purchase orders Procurement documents mirrored to planning and finance systems Users is specific to Auth0 and Purchase orders to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Roles RBAC role definitions and their permissions; synced with a database to audit which users hold which access, and assigned to Users from either side. Work orders Production records replicated for scheduling and shop-floor analytics Roles is specific to Auth0 and Work orders to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Organizations B2B customer tenants under /api/v2/organizations; synced two-way with a CRM or customer database to keep account records aligned with Auth0 orgs. Inventory balances Stock levels by site and location, synced for multi-plant visibility Organizations is specific to Auth0 and Inventory balances to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Organization Members Membership records linking Users to Organizations with roles; written to provision and deprovision access as accounts change. General ledger transactions Financial postings exported for consolidated reporting Organization Members is specific to Auth0 and General ledger transactions to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Connections Identity-provider configs (database, social, enterprise SAML/OIDC); typically read out to inventory how each tenant authenticates. Items Item master records shared with CRM, e-commerce, and planning systems Connections is specific to Auth0 and Items to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Clients (Applications) Registered applications and their metadata under /api/v2/clients; mirrored to a database for app and credential inventories. Customers Account records kept consistent with the sales team's CRM Clients (Applications) is specific to Auth0 and Customers to QAD ERP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Auth0 and QAD ERP

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Auth0 QAD ERP Sub-second propagation

DetectionAuth0 notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to QAD ERP through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

QAD ERP Auth0 Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls QAD ERP for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on the API surface.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Auth0 through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Auth0: Per-tenant limit of about 15 Management API requests/second (bursts to 50) on paid tenants; X-RateLimit-* headers and HTTP 429 signal throttling.
  • QAD ERP: Subject to instance capacity and the platform's API limits.

How the Auth0 and QAD ERP connectors work

Auth0

Integration surface
Management API v2 (REST); Authentication API issues the access token
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client credentials from a machine-to-machine application; scoped Bearer JWT where each operation needs its own scope (e.g. read:users, create:users, update:users) or returns 403
Change detection
Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge; polling falls back to the Get Users search filtered on updated_at
Capabilities
