Why teams connect Auth0 and Brightpearl

Keep the employee, group, and account records that Brightpearl and Auth0 share aligned in real time, so a person added, moved, or offboarded in one system shows up correctly in the other within seconds.

An ERP and an identity system describe the same workforce from two angles. Brightpearl holds the authoritative record of who works at the company, and often their department, title, manager, and cost center. Auth0 controls the accounts, groups, and access those same people use every day. When the two aren't connected, every hire, transfer, and departure has to be keyed twice, and the window between someone leaving in Brightpearl and their account still being active in Auth0 is a real security exposure.

Stacksync syncs Products, Sales orders, Purchase orders, Contacts in Brightpearl with Roles, Organizations, Organization Members, Connections in Auth0 in real time, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV exports and nightly jobs. A new hire, a department change, or a termination propagates within seconds, and where you want changes to flow both ways — the ERP's org data into the directory, account status back into the ERP — the same mapping handles it.

That matters most at offboarding and audit time. When the directory reflects the ERP's current headcount and org structure, disabling access no longer depends on someone remembering to update a second system, and access reviews start from a roster both sides already agree on.

Common use cases

  • 01 Push invoices and payments into an accounting platform for reconciliation.
  • 02 Keep the product catalog aligned between Brightpearl and e-commerce channels, including price list changes.
  • 03 Provision and deprovision Users and Organization Members from an HRIS or CRM — create accounts and assign Roles on hire, delete on offboarding.
  • 04 Replicate Roles and Resource Server scopes into a database to audit which Users hold which permissions across every Application.

Common sync patterns

Disable access at offboarding

When a person is marked terminated or inactive in one system, the matching account is disabled in the other within seconds, closing the gap that leaves ex-employees with live access.

Keep profile attributes current

A name, email, title, manager, or department corrected in either system updates the other, so directory entries and employee records don't drift apart.

Align group and department membership

When someone changes team or department, their group or organizational-unit membership updates to match, keeping access tied to their current role.

What you can sync between Auth0 and Brightpearl

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Auth0 objects Brightpearl objects How this pairing syncs
Users Core identity records with profile fields plus user_metadata and app_metadata; synced two-way (create, update, delete) via /api/v2/users. Credentials are never returned. Products SKU records with variants and price lists, synced with e-commerce and ERP catalogs. Users is specific to Auth0 and Products to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Roles RBAC role definitions and their permissions; synced with a database to audit which users hold which access, and assigned to Users from either side. Sales orders Orders from all channels; the central object for fulfillment and revenue syncs. Roles is specific to Auth0 and Sales orders to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Organizations B2B customer tenants under /api/v2/organizations; synced two-way with a CRM or customer database to keep account records aligned with Auth0 orgs. Purchase orders Supplier orders synced with procurement or accounting systems. Organizations is specific to Auth0 and Purchase orders to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Organization Members Membership records linking Users to Organizations with roles; written to provision and deprovision access as accounts change. Contacts Customers and suppliers in one contact model, matched to CRM records by email or reference. Organization Members is specific to Auth0 and Contacts to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Connections Identity-provider configs (database, social, enterprise SAML/OIDC); typically read out to inventory how each tenant authenticates. Inventory and warehouses On-hand and allocated stock by warehouse, read for availability publishing. Connections is specific to Auth0 and Inventory and warehouses to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Clients (Applications) Registered applications and their metadata under /api/v2/clients; mirrored to a database for app and credential inventories. Goods-out notes Fulfillment documents that carry picking and shipping status back to order sources. Clients (Applications) is specific to Auth0 and Goods-out notes to Brightpearl — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Auth0 and Brightpearl

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Auth0 Brightpearl Sub-second propagation

DetectionAuth0 notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Brightpearl through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Brightpearl Auth0 Sub-second propagation

DetectionBrightpearl notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks for object created/updated events, with resource search polling as a fallback.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Auth0 through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Auth0: Per-tenant limit of about 15 Management API requests/second (bursts to 50) on paid tenants; X-RateLimit-* headers and HTTP 429 signal throttling.
  • Brightpearl: Requests are throttled per account under Brightpearl's API usage policies; bulk operations should use batch endpoints.

How the Auth0 and Brightpearl connectors work

Auth0

Integration surface
Management API v2 (REST); Authentication API issues the access token
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client credentials from a machine-to-machine application; scoped Bearer JWT where each operation needs its own scope (e.g. read:users, create:users, update:users) or returns 403
Change detection
Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge; polling falls back to the Get Users search filtered on updated_at
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Per-tenant limit of about 15 Management API requests/second (bursts to 50) on paid tenants; X-RateLimit-* headers and HTTP 429 signal throttling

Brightpearl

Integration surface
REST API, organized into services (order, product, contact, warehouse, accounting)
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 (authorization code grant) for current apps; legacy private and public apps authenticate with app reference and account token headers
Change detection
Webhooks for object created/updated events, with resource search polling as a fallback
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Requests are throttled per account under Brightpearl's API usage policies; bulk operations should use batch endpoints
