Two-way sync
Changes in Ramp or Shopify instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Ramp and Shopify in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Finance and sales describe the same customers in different systems. Shopify knows the relationship: who the contacts are and what is in motion with the account. Ramp knows the money: what was invoiced, what was paid, what is overdue. When the two are connected only by exports, each side works partly blind.
Stacksync links Bills, Vendors, Funds (Spend Controls), General Ledger Accounts in Ramp to ProductVariants, Orders, Customers, Abandoned Checkouts in Shopify with bi-directional, real-time sync. New customers, updated billing details, invoice status, and payment activity move in whichever direction you configure, field by field, with conflicts resolved by rules you set. The result is one version of each customer, visible from both sides.
When a contact or address is corrected in Shopify, Ramp gets the update before the next invoice goes out.
Finance sees the account owner and relationship history from Shopify when chasing a balance, and sales sees that the chase is happening.
A won opportunity creates or updates the customer in Ramp with the right billing details, so invoicing starts without re-keying.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Ramp objects | Shopify objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Users Employee and cardholder records; invited, updated, and deactivated, commonly synced from an HRIS or identity provider. | Abandoned Checkouts Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Users is specific to Ramp and Abandoned Checkouts to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Departments Org groupings for cost-center and GL allocation; pushed from an ERP/HRIS and referenced by cards and transactions. | Products Catalog entries; often mastered in a PIM or ERP and written into Shopify. | Departments is specific to Ramp and Products to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Reimbursements Out-of-pocket expense claims; read for reporting and marked ready-to-sync then synced to the ERP. | ProductMedias Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Reimbursements is specific to Ramp and ProductMedias to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Bills Accounts-payable bills; created, updated, approved, and paid, then posted ready-to-sync and synced to accounting. | ProductVariants Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Bills is specific to Ramp and ProductVariants to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Vendors Supplier records under the accounting namespace; uploaded and updated for AP matching and payments. | Orders Purchase transactions; pushed to ERPs for fulfillment and billing, and read into databases for reporting. | Vendors is specific to Ramp and Orders to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Funds (Spend Controls) Spend controls governing card usage; read and created via the funds API to enforce budgets per user, department, or program. | Customers Buyer records; matched to CRM contacts for marketing and lifetime-value analysis. | Funds (Spend Controls) is specific to Ramp and Customers to Shopify — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionRamp notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Signed webhooks (HMAC-SHA256 X-Ramp-Signature) for bill, transaction, reimbursement, vendor, and user events.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Shopify through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionShopify notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhook topics per resource, with polling on updated_at as a fallback.

Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Ramp and Shopify: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Ramp's Users and Departments), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Change detection on Ramp: Signed webhooks (HMAC-SHA256 X-Ramp-Signature) for bill, transaction, reimbursement, vendor, and user events; otherwise poll incrementally (synced_after on transactions, from_created_at on bills) with keyset pagination, or read the audit-logs/events feed. On Shopify: Webhook topics per resource, with polling on updated_at as a fallback. Each detected change propagates to the other side in milliseconds, with field-level conflict resolution and an inspectable event log.
On the Ramp side: Bills, Vendors, Funds (Spend Controls), General Ledger Accounts, plus custom fields where Ramp exposes them. On the Shopify side: ProductVariants, Orders, Customers, Abandoned Checkouts. Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Ramp and Shopify: Billing detail changes flow back; Collections with context; Where Shopify tracks deals: closed-won creates the finance record. When a contact or address is corrected in Shopify, Ramp gets the update before the next invoice goes out.
Ramp: REST API (Developer API v1). Authentication: OAuth 2.0: exchange client_id/client_secret (HTTP Basic) at api.ramp.com/developer/v1/token for scoped bearer tokens; client_credentials grant for server-to-server and authorization_code for user-delegated access; scopes follow resource:permission (e.g. transactions:read, bills:write, accounting:write). Shopify: GraphQL Admin API (primary) and REST Admin API (legacy). Authentication: OAuth via a custom Shopify app: admin creates an app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard, enables required API scopes, sets the Stacksync redirect URL, then supplies shop name + Client ID and Client Secret to Stacksync. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
