Two-way sync
Changes in Paylocity or Vitally instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Paylocity and Vitally in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Vitally runs on people as much as on accounts: every contact, deal, and account has an owner, and those owners are employees whose roles, teams, and status are held in Paylocity. Paylocity is the system of record for the workforce, from new hires to promotions to departures, and often for the candidates the business is still deciding on. When the two systems are connected only by re-keying or an overnight export, they drift apart, and the CRM ends up assigning accounts to people who have left, holding territories that no longer match the org chart, and waiting days to give a new rep access.
Stacksync syncs Conversation, NPS Response, Custom Trait, Account in Vitally with Employees, Onboarding, Deductions (Pay Setup), Earnings (Pay Setup) in Paylocity field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields, so Paylocity stays authoritative on roles and org structure while Vitally keeps ownership and territory current, and Stacksync resolves conflicts by the rules you set.
A person's name, title, email, phone, or manager corrected in either system updates the other, so both stop maintaining separate copies of the same individual.
A person recorded in Paylocity, such as a candidate or applicant, can create or update the matching contact in Vitally, so relationship history and outreach are not rebuilt from scratch when the same individual appears in both.
When Paylocity records a new hire, a matching user or owner is created in Vitally, so a new rep can start working accounts without waiting on a manual setup ticket.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Paylocity objects | Vitally objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local and State Taxes Two-way via Create/Update/Delete Local Tax and Upsert Primary / Non-Primary State Tax; Get by tax code and Get All for reads. | Conversation Customer conversations logged in Vitally; activity objects include parent object details in the payload. | Local and State Taxes is specific to Paylocity and Conversation to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Direct Deposit Read-only: Get All Direct Deposit and Get Employee Bank Accounts return main and additional allocations. Bank details cannot be written through the API. | NPS Response NPS survey responses for account-health reporting. | Direct Deposit is specific to Paylocity and NPS Response to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Pay Statements Read-only detailed payroll statement data — earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposit allocations by year, check date, or date range. Pulled for reporting, never written. | Custom Trait Custom account and user traits for segmentation. | Pay Statements is specific to Paylocity and Custom Trait to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Company Codes Read-only reference codes and descriptions (cost centers, departments, positions) used to validate field mappings on employee writes. | Account Core customer account records with health scores and lifecycle traits; created, updated, retrieved, and listed via the REST API. | Company Codes is specific to Paylocity and Account to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |

| Employees Core HR record keyed by companyId + employeeId; two-way via Create New Employee (POST) and Update Employee (PATCH), plus Get Employee / Get All Employees for reads. | Organization Parent organizations for hierarchical B2B account structures. | Employees is specific to Paylocity and Organization to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionPaylocity notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks — Paylocity POSTs Employee New Hire, Employee Change, Termination, Payroll Processed, and Time Off Approval events to a callback URL.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Vitally through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Paylocity and Vitally: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Paylocity's Local and State Taxes and Direct Deposit), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
On the Vitally side: Conversation, NPS Response, Custom Trait, Account, plus custom fields where Vitally exposes them. On the Paylocity side: Employees, Onboarding, Deductions (Pay Setup), Earnings (Pay Setup). Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Paylocity and Vitally: One directory of people; Where Paylocity tracks people the business also engages: contacts stay in sync; New team members provisioned when they are hired. A person's name, title, email, phone, or manager corrected in either system updates the other, so both stop maintaining separate copies of the same individual.
Paylocity: REST API (v1 and v2), JSON payloads. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials via the Paylocity Identity Provider (/IdentityServer/connect/token) with the WebLinkAPI scope; access tokens expire after one hour and API access must be enabled by Paylocity for the company. Vitally: REST API with cursor-based pagination (sortable by createdAt/updatedAt). Authentication: API key via Basic Auth; keys created in Settings -> Integrations -> REST API and individually revocable. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Vitally: Default rate limiting is 1,000 requests/min using a token bucket; write requests consume more budget. Paylocity: Direct Deposit, Pay Statements, Company Codes, and Custom Fields are read-only through the API — bank and processed-payroll data can be pulled but not written. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Paylocity and Vitally without custom code.
