Why teams connect Oracle CX Sales and Xactly

Run Oracle CX Sales and Xactly side by side with the same accounts and contacts in both, whether they serve different teams or one is replacing the other.

Two CRMs in one company is more common than anyone plans for: an acquisition brings its own system, regions or business units standardize differently, or a migration is under way and both are live. In every case, some of the same companies and people exist in both systems, and every day of manual double entry pushes the copies further apart.

Stacksync syncs Leads, Opportunities, Activities, Territories in Oracle CX Sales with Credits, Transactions (Commission & Bonus), Participants (Payees), Positions & Titles in Xactly in real time and in both directions, with field-level mapping and matching on identifiers you choose. Update a record in either CRM and the other reflects it within seconds.

Common use cases

  • 01 Run CX Sales alongside a second CRM during a merger or migration, with records converging in both directions.
  • 02 Push product usage and entitlement data from internal databases into CX Sales to inform forecasting.
  • 03 Replicate Products and Customer/Account master from CRM/ERP into Xactly so crediting rules resolve against consistent reference data.
  • 04 Mirror commission Transactions and Credits into a data warehouse to power rep-facing dashboards and comp-plan analytics without manual exports.

Common sync patterns

Post-acquisition consolidation

Keep both CRMs accurate while the merged team decides on a target system, instead of freezing one and losing months of updates.

Migration with a parallel run

When one CRM is replacing the other, run both fully live until cutover, with no snapshot gap and no data freeze.

Divisional or regional split

Where each CRM serves a different team or region, sync just the shared accounts and contacts so handoffs and cross-sell work.

What you can sync between Oracle CX Sales and Xactly

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Oracle CX Sales objects Xactly objects How this pairing syncs
Accounts Customer organizations, the anchor record for bi-directional CRM syncs Orders Sales order and transaction records loaded into Incent as the raw input for crediting and calculation; created and updated through Connect load and ETL steps (write) and read back for reconciliation, so read and write. Accounts is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Orders to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Contacts People linked to accounts, kept consistent with marketing and support systems Credits Crediting records that tie an order to a participant and position; system-calculated credits are read, while manual and adjustment credits are loaded through Connect, so read and write. Contacts is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Credits to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Leads Unqualified prospects synced in from marketing tools and back out after conversion Transactions (Commission & Bonus) Calculated commission and bonus line items produced by Incent's calculation engine; read as the output of comp runs for reporting and downstream payout, so effectively read-only results. Leads is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Transactions (Commission & Bonus) to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Opportunities Pipeline records with revenue lines, mirrored to forecasting and billing systems Participants (Payees) Sales reps and payees keyed to positions; loaded and updated from HRIS/HCM source data through Connect (write) and read for roster reporting, so read and write. Opportunities is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Participants (Payees) to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Activities Tasks, appointments, and call logs used for engagement reporting Positions & Titles Org-hierarchy positions and titles that credits and quotas roll up to; loaded and maintained through Connect (write) and read to resolve the hierarchy, so read and write. Activities is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Positions & Titles to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Territories Assignment structures that downstream routing and comp tools consume Quotas / Targets Period quota and target values per position or plan; loaded from planning tools through Connect (write) and read for attainment reporting, so read and write. Territories is specific to Oracle CX Sales and Quotas / Targets to Xactly — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Oracle CX Sales and Xactly

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Oracle CX Sales Xactly Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Oracle CX Sales for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on last-update audit fields.

DeliveryEach detected change is applied to Xactly as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.

Xactly Oracle CX Sales Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Xactly for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. No CDC log for external tools to consume.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Oracle CX Sales through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Oracle CX Sales: Subject to the platform's API rate limits.
  • Xactly: Xactly does not publish numeric per-second rate limits. The Connect platform enforces query concurrency and long-running-query limits, so large extracts are paged and heavy loads/queries run as asynchronous Connect jobs (submit, then retrieve results) rather than row-by-row calls; batch loads are the supported path for high volume.

How the Oracle CX Sales and Xactly connectors work

Oracle CX Sales

Integration surface
REST API (Oracle Fusion Applications REST framework); SOAP services also available
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 or basic authentication against the Fusion instance, depending on configuration
Change detection
polling on last-update audit fields; event-driven patterns route through Oracle Integration rather than direct webhooks
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
subject to the platform's API rate limits

Xactly

Integration surface
Xactly Connect REST API v2 (JSON), plus ODBC/JDBC drivers over the same ANSI-SQL data model. Incent data is exposed as SQL-queryable objects (for example xactly_order, xactly_credit, xactly_transaction, xactly_payment); data is loaded and extracted through Connect load/query steps and server-side ETL Pipelines. The base host is region/pod-specific (for example https://<pod>.xactlycorp.com).
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 via the Xactly Connect API Gateway (bearer tokens issued on behalf of an Xactly Incent user), with HTTP Basic authentication using a dedicated Xactly Connect service-user's credentials also supported for the Connect REST API v2. The connecting user needs Connect/API access plus the relevant object permissions in Incent.
Change detection
No CDC log for external tools to consume. Incremental sync uses SQL predicates on modified/last-updated timestamp columns (for example WHERE modified_date > watermark) against Connect's queryable objects, or scheduled Connect ETL Pipelines that pull deltas since the last run. Xactly Connect has no outbound HTTP webhooks, so change detection is pull/ETL-based.
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
Xactly does not publish numeric per-second rate limits. The Connect platform enforces query concurrency and long-running-query limits, so large extracts are paged and heavy loads/queries run as asynchronous Connect jobs (submit, then retrieve results) rather than row-by-row calls; batch loads are the supported path for high volume.
