Why teams connect Front and Jobvite

Keep the people, teams, and status that Front and Jobvite share aligned in real time, so a hire, role change, or departure recorded in one reaches the other within seconds.

Each tool in Front keeps its own list of who can use it: users, members, or agents, along with the team they sit on and whether they are still active. Jobvite is the authoritative record of the same people as employees, with their department, manager, and employment status. When those two are connected only by manual account admin or a periodic export, the work tools drift: new hires wait days for access, team and manager changes never catch up, and people who have left keep standing accounts.

Stacksync syncs Accounts, Inboxes, Tags, Teammates in Front with Employee, Attachment, Offer, Candidate in Jobvite bi-directionally and in real time. A person added, moved, or offboarded in Jobvite creates or updates the matching user in Front within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of spreadsheets and one-off account changes. Where Front captures details of its own, such as a corrected contact or a login identity, those can flow back to Jobvite in whichever direction you configure.

Because the sync is field-level, each system keeps its own extras; only the shared facts, who a person is, which team they belong to, and whether their access should be on, are held in agreement.

Common use cases

  • 01 Keep Front contacts and accounts aligned with CRM contacts and accounts in both directions.
  • 02 Mirror conversations tagged for escalation into engineering trackers through the synced database.
  • 03 Consolidate Applications, Offers, and Workflow Status into a warehouse for time-to-fill and funnel reporting across every requisition.
  • 04 Sync Employee roster data into Jobvite with POST /employee to power employee-referral matching and internal-mobility postings.

Common sync patterns

Onboarding: access ready on day one

A new hire recorded in Jobvite creates the matching user in Front with the right team and manager already set, so people can start working without waiting on a provisioning ticket.

Offboarding: no standing access after a departure

When someone is marked as leaving in Jobvite, the matching account in Front is deactivated or flagged, so departures do not leave open access behind.

One employee directory

A person's name, title, contact details, or status corrected in either system updates the other, so both sides stop maintaining separate copies of the same person.

What you can sync between Front and Jobvite

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Front objects Jobvite objects How this pairing syncs
Teammates Agents; used for ownership mapping and workload reporting. Candidate Read from the candidate feed (GET /candidate) and written back via POST /candidate/updateCandidates to change status, notes, and disposition on each record. Teammates is specific to Front and Candidate to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Channels Connected addresses (email, SMS, chat); define where messages originate and send from. Requisition (Job) Job openings created or updated through POST /job and read from GET /jobFeed; maps to opening tables in an ATS reporting warehouse. Channels is specific to Front and Requisition (Job) to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Conversations The central threaded unit that messages, comments, and tags attach to; synced for support analytics. Application Links a candidate to one requisition with its workflow state; read for pipeline reporting and status written back through the candidate update call. Conversations is specific to Front and Application to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Messages Inbound and outbound emails, chats, and SMS within a conversation; read out for response-time reporting. Workflow Status The pipeline stage per application (Screen, Interview, Offer, Hired); updated through POST /candidate/updateCandidates to advance records. Messages is specific to Front and Workflow Status to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Comments Internal team notes on conversations; usually read-only in syncs. New Hire Hired-candidate records surfaced in the candidate feed and via the candidate hired webhook; commonly written into an HRIS or onboarding tool. Comments is specific to Front and New Hire to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Contacts People across channels; matched to CRM contacts, with custom fields carrying external context. Employee Employee roster pushed through POST /employee (Onboard sync), used for referral matching and internal-mobility job postings. Contacts is specific to Front and Employee to Jobvite — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Front and Jobvite

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Front Jobvite Sub-second propagation

DetectionFront notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Application webhooks and rule-triggered webhooks, with the events endpoint available for polling.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Jobvite through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Jobvite Front Sub-second propagation

DetectionJobvite notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. A candidate hired webhook, configured per customer by a Jobvite rep, POSTs to a custom URL on hire/offer-accepted events.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Front through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Front: Request limits vary by plan.
  • Jobvite: Roughly 15 requests per minute and 850 per hour, reset at midnight Pacific, with per-endpoint daily caps (e.g. 20,000/day candidate GET/PUT, 500/day employee sync); 429 on exceed.
