Two-way sync
Changes in Docusign or SendGrid instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Docusign and SendGrid in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Two tools in the daily stack often hold overlapping information: the same people, the same companies, or the same pieces of work, described twice. The tools do different jobs, so consolidating is not the answer; the overlap just needs to stop drifting.
Stacksync syncs Folders, Users, Envelopes, Recipients in Docusign with Unsubscribe Groups, Email Activity, Contacts, List in SendGrid in real time. You choose which records overlap, map the fields that should match, and pick a direction or let changes flow both ways. From then on, an update made in either tool is reflected in the other within seconds, without exports or copy-paste.
Because the sync is field-level, each tool keeps its own extras; only the shared data is held in agreement.
When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Contact and company details corrected in either tool update the other, so nobody works from the old version.
Payments, replies, messages, or tickets created in one tool can create or update matching records in the other, keeping context in one place.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Docusign objects | SendGrid objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Templates Reusable envelope definitions with predefined recipients and tab placement; read to map fields and referenced by ID to generate new envelopes. | Contacts Marketing recipients upserted from CRM or database records, including custom field values. | Templates is specific to Docusign and Contacts to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Tabs (form fields) Signature, initial, date, text, and checkbox fields on a document; they carry the data a signer entered and are read out into databases. | List Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Tabs (form fields) is specific to Docusign and List to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Envelope Custom Fields Text and list metadata used to tag envelopes for reporting; synced to a warehouse or CRM to key and categorize agreements. | Segments Query-based contact groups whose membership SendGrid computes from contact fields. | Envelope Custom Fields is specific to Docusign and Segments to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Folders Containers such as Inbox, Sent, and Draft plus custom folders; listed and moved to organize envelopes and drive reporting queries. | Categories Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Folders is specific to Docusign and Categories to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Users Account members and senders; the eSignature Users resource exposes them for attribution and reporting, while bulk org-wide user provisioning uses the separate Admin API. | Senders Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Users is specific to Docusign and Senders to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Envelopes The core container for a signature request — documents, recipients, routing, and status; read status and metadata two-way, and create/send new envelopes. | Single Sends One-off marketing campaigns whose stats are read back for reporting. | Envelopes is specific to Docusign and Single Sends to SendGrid — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionDocusign notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Docusign Connect webhooks push envelope and recipient status-change events in real time.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to SendGrid through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionSendGrid notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Webhook posts delivery and engagement events (processed, delivered, open, click, bounce, spam report) to an HTTP endpoint.

Real-time sync, workflow automation, event queues, EDI, and monitoring, for every Docusign–SendGrid connection.
Changes in Docusign or SendGrid instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Trigger automated workflows whenever Docusign or SendGrid data changes, update records, fire webhooks, or kick off sequences without brittle API scripts.
Handle millions of events per minute without losing a single Docusign or SendGrid record.
Track your Docusign ⇄ SendGrid sync health, view errors, and replay failed events in one click.
Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between Docusign and SendGrid.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Docusign and SendGrid with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Docusign and SendGrid objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Docusign and SendGrid: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Docusign's Templates and Tabs (form fields)), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Docusign and SendGrid: Handoffs between teams; Where both tools track people or companies: one consistent record; Where one tool produces events: mirror them in the other. When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Docusign: ESignature REST API v2.1 (plus Docusign Connect webhooks; separate CLM, Rooms, and Admin APIs). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 — Authorization Code Grant for interactive apps, or JWT Grant (RSA key pair with user impersonation) for server-to-server integrations. SendGrid: REST API (v3). Authentication: API key (create in SendGrid Settings > API Keys with Custom Access / Full Access for the objects to sync; key begins with "SG"). Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Docusign: JWT Grant integrations require one-time admin consent and impersonate a specific Docusign user, and must respect Docusign's userinfo call-frequency guidance. SendGrid: Email Activity access requires an add-on subscription in SendGrid; without it the Email Activity API is not available. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Docusign and SendGrid without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Docusign and SendGrid records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Docusign and SendGrid connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Docusign–SendGrid integration in-house.
As a data company, we understand the importance of keeping your data secure. Stacksync is built with security best practices to keep your data safe at every layer, and is DPF-certified for US, EU, UK and CH data transfers.
Let your users access Stacksync from your centralized user management systems. Works with Okta, Azure, Google SSO and more.
