Why teams connect Cvent and Supabase

Give your team Cvent's contacts, campaigns, and engagement in Supabase: query them with SQL, push audiences built from your own data back to Cvent, and skip the marketing API.

Cvent holds the people, audiences, and campaign activity that marketing runs on, but that data sits behind interfaces built for marketers, not for your internal systems. Engineers and analysts who need contacts, list membership, or engagement, for reporting, attribution, or product logic, end up writing integration code against a rate-limited API and maintaining it forever. Meanwhile the customer and usage data marketers want for targeting already lives in Supabase, hard to get into campaigns without manual exports.

Stacksync mirrors Speakers, Exhibitors, Surveys, Budgets from Cvent into Database Functions, Storage Object Metadata, Tables, Views in Supabase field by field, in real time, and in both directions. Marketing records become rows your code can query and join with product and customer data; audiences and attributes computed in Supabase, from usage, orders, or account status, sync back into Cvent to drive campaigns and ads, with Cvent kept authoritative for engagement. You decide which side owns which fields, and Stacksync resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Mirror billing and subscription records into Supabase tables the application can join directly
  • 02 Reflect auth.users state into support and CRM systems so teams see account status without querying the database
  • 03 Read Budgets and event financials into an ERP or finance database to reconcile planned versus actual event spend.
  • 04 Write Attendees and Registrations into Cvent from external marketing signup flows, then read attendance status back into a warehouse.

Common sync patterns

Build audiences from your own data

Segments computed in Supabase from product usage, orders, or account status sync into Cvent as lists or audiences, so campaigns and ads target the people your data says they should.

Engagement and results next to the customer

Opens, clicks, sends, RSVPs, or ad activity from Cvent land in Supabase beside the matching customer record, ready for reporting and revenue attribution.

React to marketing changes as row changes

A new lead, form fill, or list change in Cvent arrives as a row change in Supabase, so scoring, jobs, and notifications run in the tooling your team already uses.

What you can sync between Cvent and Supabase

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Cvent objects Supabase objects How this pairing syncs
Contacts Account-wide people database spanning every event; synced two-way with a CRM or warehouse as the shared audience source of truth via the Create Contacts endpoint. Tables Standard Postgres tables; the primary two-way sync target. Contacts is specific to Cvent and Tables to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Attendees and Registrations Per-event registrants; written in from CRM or marketing signup flows via POST /ea/attendees and read back out to a warehouse for attendance and registration-status reporting. Views Read-side projections exposed to outbound syncs. Attendees and Registrations is specific to Cvent and Views to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Sessions Agenda items within an event; listed or created through the API and synced so session-level attendance feeds reporting tables. Schemas Namespaces (public and custom) that scope sync access. Sessions is specific to Cvent and Schemas to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Speakers Speaker records tied to an event; synced two-way with a speaker database or CMS, with an updatedDate on each record for incremental pulls. auth.users Managed authentication users, often mirrored into CRM or support systems. Speakers is specific to Cvent and auth.users to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Exhibitors Exhibitor and sponsor records; synced to a CRM or database to track booth, sponsorship, and lead-capture data per event. Row Level Security Policies Row-level access rules that govern what the REST layer exposes. Exhibitors is specific to Cvent and Row Level Security Policies to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Surveys Survey definitions and responses; read out to a warehouse for post-event feedback analysis alongside attendance data. JSONB Columns Semi-structured payloads such as event properties or nested objects. Surveys is specific to Cvent and JSONB Columns to Supabase — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Cvent and Supabase

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Cvent Supabase Sub-second propagation

DetectionCvent notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes.

DeliveryEach detected change is applied to Supabase as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.

Supabase Cvent Sub-second propagation

DetectionSupabase pushes changes as they happen — webhook events backed by change data capture. Log-based CDC via Postgres logical replication, the same WAL feed that powers Supabase Realtime.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Cvent through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Cvent: Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC.
  • Supabase: SQL access is bounded by connection limits (pooled connections are provided); the REST layer is subject to the platform's limits.

How the Cvent and Supabase connectors work

Cvent

Integration surface
Cvent REST API (JSON over HTTPS at api-platform.cvent.com/ea, paginated list endpoints)
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client-credentials flow: a client ID and secret are Basic-auth exchanged for a 60-minute bearer token at api-platform.cvent.com/ea/oauth2/token; legacy API-key and SOAP/CSN auth are deprecated
Change detection
Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes; list endpoints also expose updatedDate for polling and support on-demand manual sync
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC

Supabase

Integration surface
Direct PostgreSQL wire protocol connection, plus an auto-generated REST API (PostgREST)
Authentication
Database credentials (connection string) for SQL access; API keys (anon / service role) for the REST layer
Change detection
Log-based CDC via Postgres logical replication, the same WAL feed that powers Supabase Realtime; database webhooks can also fire on row changes
Capabilities
read · write · CDC · webhooks
Rate limits
SQL access is bounded by connection limits (pooled connections are provided); the REST layer is subject to the platform's limits
