Why teams connect Cvent and StarRocks

Put modeled data to work and measure what it drives: StarRocks and Cvent keep contacts, audiences, and campaign results in step in real time, in both directions.

StarRocks is where your team models customers, product usage, and revenue into trusted tables; Cvent runs the campaigns, audiences, and messages that reach those people. The two overlap wherever the same person, account, or segment matters to both, and when the bridge between them is a nightly export or a hand-built list, marketing targets stale data while analytics never sees what the campaign returned.

Stacksync syncs Partitions, Columns, Databases, Tables in StarRocks with Exhibitors, Surveys, Budgets, Events in Cvent field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — a computed score or segment can flow out to Cvent while sends, opens, and conversions flow back to StarRocks — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Consolidate several sources into StarRocks as the query layer while Stacksync handles movement
  • 02 Land CRM and ERP records into StarRocks to serve low-latency operational dashboards
  • 03 Read Budgets and event financials into an ERP or finance database to reconcile planned versus actual event spend.
  • 04 Write Attendees and Registrations into Cvent from external marketing signup flows, then read attendance status back into a warehouse.

Common sync patterns

Suppression and consent stay aligned

Unsubscribes, bounces, and consent or opt-out flags held in either system propagate to the other, so no one is messaged after opting out and StarRocks holds the current state for auditing.

Enrich records with warehouse context

Product-usage counts, plan tier, region, or account owner computed in StarRocks appear on the matching record in Cvent, so targeting, routing, and personalization use up-to-date context.

Activate a modeled audience

A segment or score built in StarRocks — high-intent accounts, churn risk, a lifetime-value tier — lands as an audience or contact field in Cvent, so campaigns target the people your data actually points to instead of a static export.

What you can sync between Cvent and StarRocks

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Cvent objects StarRocks objects How this pairing syncs
Budgets Event budget line items; read into a finance database or ERP to reconcile planned versus actual event spend. Views Logical views for shaping analytical reads. Budgets is specific to Cvent and Views to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Events Top-level event containers created and updated through the Events endpoints; read out for reporting and written to provision events from an external system. Partitions Time or range partitions that scope loads and retention. Events is specific to Cvent and Partitions to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Contacts Account-wide people database spanning every event; synced two-way with a CRM or warehouse as the shared audience source of truth via the Create Contacts endpoint. Columns Columnar storage with types mapped from source systems during sync. Contacts is specific to Cvent and Columns to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Attendees and Registrations Per-event registrants; written in from CRM or marketing signup flows via POST /ea/attendees and read back out to a warehouse for attendance and registration-status reporting. Databases Top-level namespaces addressed exactly as in MySQL clients. Attendees and Registrations is specific to Cvent and Databases to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Sessions Agenda items within an event; listed or created through the API and synced so session-level attendance feeds reporting tables. Tables Defined with a table model (Primary Key, Unique Key, Aggregate, Duplicate Key) that determines update behavior. Sessions is specific to Cvent and Tables to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Speakers Speaker records tied to an event; synced two-way with a speaker database or CMS, with an updatedDate on each record for incremental pulls. Materialized views Automatically maintained rollups used to accelerate queries on synced data. Speakers is specific to Cvent and Materialized views to StarRocks — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Cvent and StarRocks

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Cvent StarRocks Sub-second propagation

DetectionCvent notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes.

DeliveryEach detected change is applied to StarRocks as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.

StarRocks Cvent Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls StarRocks for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Query-based polling when reading.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Cvent through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Cvent: Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC.
  • StarRocks: Ingestion throughput is bounded by cluster resources rather than API quotas.
