Two-way sync
Changes in Coupa or Hibob instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Coupa and Hibob in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Coupa runs the money side of the company: who gets paid, what it costs, and which part of the business the cost belongs to. Hibob runs the people side: who works here, which team they sit in, and how their employment changes over time. The two overlap on the same people and the same org structure, because every employee is also a payee and every department is also a cost center. When that overlap is maintained by hand, a new hire, a transfer, or a termination has to be keyed twice, and the two systems start to disagree about who is active and where the cost lands.
Stacksync syncs Contracts, Expense Reports, Requisitions, Purchase Orders in Coupa with Lifecycle, Documents, Named lists, People (Employees) in Hibob bi-directionally and in real time. A person added, updated, or deactivated on either side appears on the other within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV exports and nightly batch jobs.
That matters most when money follows a people event. A hire that finance can pay, a leaver whose access ends, a transfer that redirects cost to the right team, all happen from one change instead of two, so headcount and spend reconcile from the same set of records.
A person's name, ID, or contact details corrected in either system update the other, so finance and HR reference the same person instead of maintaining two versions.
The org structure maintained in Hibob keeps the departments or cost centers in Coupa current, so spend and headcount roll up the same way.
A role, department, or employment-status change in either system updates the other within seconds, so cost allocation, access, and reporting reflect the current state.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Coupa objects | Hibob objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purchase Orders PO headers and lines; synced two-way with ERPs so orders raised in Coupa flow to the ledger and status updates flow back on the /purchase_orders resource. | Time off Absence requests and who's-out data via /timeoff/employees/{id}/requests and /timeoff/whosout; submit new requests and read balances. | Purchase Orders is specific to Coupa and Time off to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Invoices Supplier/AP invoices with lines and approval status; polled out to accounting and ERP systems for the pay cycle, or created through the API. | Lifecycle Hire, termination, and leave status changes at /people/{id}/lifecycle; read-only and the source of lifecycle webhook events. | Invoices is specific to Coupa and Lifecycle to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Suppliers Supplier master records; kept aligned with an ERP vendor master and onboarding tools, synced two-way on the /suppliers resource. | Documents Employee documents accessed under the Docs API; gated behind the Documents permission granted per service user. | Suppliers is specific to Coupa and Documents to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Users Employee and user accounts with roles and content groups; provisioned and updated from an HRIS or identity provider. | Named lists Dropdown option lists such as departments and sites used to resolve field values when mapping People records during sync. | Users is specific to Coupa and Named lists to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Accounts Chart-of-accounts segments and GL codes; usually mastered in the ERP and written into Coupa so requisitions and invoices code correctly. | People (Employees) Core employee records with out-of-the-box and custom fields; read via POST /people/search, created and updated through the /people endpoints. | Accounts is specific to Coupa and People (Employees) to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Contracts Supplier contract records with terms and dates; read out for reporting or created from a CLM system. | Employment Historical table of job terms, contract, and working pattern under /people/{id}/employment; full CRUD, entries keyed by effectiveDate. | Contracts is specific to Coupa and Employment to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Coupa for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on updated-at and created-at filters (e.g.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Hibob through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionHibob notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks fire for employee created/updated/deleted, table-entry created/updated, time off, and lifecycle events.

Pick the Coupa and Hibob objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Coupa and Hibob: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Coupa's Purchase Orders and Invoices), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Coupa and Hibob: One employee identity; Department and cost-center alignment; Status changes propagate. A person's name, ID, or contact details corrected in either system update the other, so finance and HR reference the same person instead of maintaining two versions.
Coupa: REST Core API (JSON or XML). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 / OIDC via the client-credentials grant; scopes take the service.object.right form (e.g. core.accounting.read, core.accounting.write). Legacy API keys are being retired (no new keys since R34; API-key auth unsupported from R36). Access tokens last 24 hours. Hibob: REST API (the Bob API). Authentication: Service User credentials over HTTP Basic auth (Base64-encoded serviceUserId:serviceUserToken); permissions granted per data category (People, Payroll, Documents) in Bob admin. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Coupa: Rate limits are not published and there are no X-RateLimit or Retry-After headers, so clients must implement exponential backoff on 429/503. Hibob: Historical tables key entries by effectiveDate while non-historical tables key by id, which sync engines must handle when reconciling changes. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Coupa and Hibob without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Coupa and Hibob records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Coupa and Hibob connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Coupa–Hibob integration in-house.
