Two-way sync
Changes in Braintree or Hibob instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Braintree and Hibob in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Braintree runs the money side of the company: who gets paid, what it costs, and which part of the business the cost belongs to. Hibob runs the people side: who works here, which team they sit in, and how their employment changes over time. The two overlap on the same people and the same org structure, because every employee is also a payee and every department is also a cost center. When that overlap is maintained by hand, a new hire, a transfer, or a termination has to be keyed twice, and the two systems start to disagree about who is active and where the cost lands.
Stacksync syncs Payment Methods, Subscriptions, Plans, Disputes in Braintree with Documents, Named lists, People (Employees), Employment in Hibob bi-directionally and in real time. A person added, updated, or deactivated on either side appears on the other within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV exports and nightly batch jobs.
That matters most when money follows a people event. A hire that finance can pay, a leaver whose access ends, a transfer that redirects cost to the right team, all happen from one change instead of two, so headcount and spend reconcile from the same set of records.
When someone is added in Hibob, a matching employee or payee record appears in Braintree, ready for payroll, expenses, or cost allocation without anyone rekeying the details.
A person's name, ID, or contact details corrected in either system update the other, so finance and HR reference the same person instead of maintaining two versions.
The org structure maintained in Hibob keeps the departments or cost centers in Braintree current, so spend and headcount roll up the same way.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Braintree objects | Hibob objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disputes Chargebacks with evidence and deadlines; ops teams can respond and add evidence via the API, and dispute webhooks push status changes to downstream tools. | Documents Employee documents accessed under the Docs API; gated behind the Documents permission granted per service user. | Disputes is specific to Braintree and Documents to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Add-ons and Discounts Modifiers applied to Subscriptions; defined in the Control Panel and read alongside subscription state when mirroring billing data. | Named lists Dropdown option lists such as departments and sites used to resolve field values when mapping People records during sync. | Add-ons and Discounts is specific to Braintree and Named lists to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Merchant Accounts and Disbursements The accounts funds settle into plus settlement batches paid out; disbursement webhooks and settlement batch reports drive reconciliation feeds. | People (Employees) Core employee records with out-of-the-box and custom fields; read via POST /people/search, created and updated through the /people endpoints. | Merchant Accounts and Disbursements is specific to Braintree and People (Employees) to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Customers Vaulted customer profiles that hold payment methods; created and updated two-way via the API and searchable by created/updated date range. | Employment Historical table of job terms, contract, and working pattern under /people/{id}/employment; full CRUD, entries keyed by effectiveDate. | Customers is specific to Braintree and Employment to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Transactions Sales, refunds, and credits; created through the API but immutable after that (only void/refund/settle transitions), so syncs treat them as append-only with status changes. | Work Reporting line, department, site, and title under /people/{id}/work; drives the org chart and is synced two-way to directories. | Transactions is specific to Braintree and Work to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Payment Methods Tokenized credit cards, PayPal accounts, and other instruments stored in the Vault against a Customer; only tokens, last-four, and expiry are exposed, never raw PAN. | Salaries Compensation history at /people/{id}/salaries; full CRUD but gated behind the Payroll permission on the service user. | Payment Methods is specific to Braintree and Salaries to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionBraintree notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks (subscription, transaction, dispute, disbursement, payment method, account updater) for near-real-time events, plus created/updated.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Hibob through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionHibob notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks fire for employee created/updated/deleted, table-entry created/updated, time off, and lifecycle events.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Braintree through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Braintree and Hibob with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Braintree and Hibob objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Braintree and Hibob: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Braintree's Disputes and Add-ons and Discounts), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
On the Braintree side: Payment Methods, Subscriptions, Plans, Disputes, plus custom fields where Braintree exposes them. On the Hibob side: Documents, Named lists, People (Employees), Employment. Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Braintree and Hibob: New person becomes a known record in finance; One employee identity; Department and cost-center alignment. When someone is added in Hibob, a matching employee or payee record appears in Braintree, ready for payroll, expenses, or cost allocation without anyone rekeying the details.
Braintree: Braintree GraphQL API (single POST endpoint) plus legacy server SDKs. Authentication: API Key authentication — public key + private key Base64-encoded in the Authorization header (HTTP Basic); client tokens/tokenization keys for client-side calls and OAuth for platform/marketplace access. Hibob: REST API (the Bob API). Authentication: Service User credentials over HTTP Basic auth (Base64-encoded serviceUserId:serviceUserToken); permissions granted per data category (People, Payroll, Documents) in Bob admin. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Braintree: GraphQL is the modern surface, but many operations still run through the legacy server SDKs, and date-range search on created/updated is how incremental reads work outside webhooks. Hibob: Historical tables key entries by effectiveDate while non-historical tables key by id, which sync engines must handle when reconciling changes. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Braintree and Hibob without custom code.
