Real-time sync
Changes in Clearbit or Gainsight instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Clearbit and Gainsight in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Clearbit is a read-only source: Stacksync reads its data in real time and delivers it into Gainsight, so Gainsight always reflects the current state of Clearbit — without exports, scripts, or schedulers.
The CRM is supposed to be the record of every customer relationship, but customer-relevant information also accumulates in the other tools a team runs. Whatever Gainsight holds or produces that touches a customer, whether conversations, payments, replies, enriched data, or notes, the CRM only benefits if it arrives without someone copying it over.
Owner, lifecycle stage, or account details from Clearbit sync into Gainsight, so people working there have the context without switching tools.
Tickets and conversations attach to the right contact and account in Clearbit, so sales sees open issues before the next call.
Enriched fields land directly on records in Clearbit, and refreshes keep them from going stale.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Clearbit objects | Gainsight objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Companies Firmographic profiles looked up by domain and merged into account records. | Company Customer/account master in Gainsight CS; two-way synced with CRM and warehouse customer tables to keep ARR, owner, and renewal fields aligned. | Same entity on both sides — records pair one-to-one and field-level changes reconcile in the writable direction. Custom fields on either side are included in the mapping. | |
| Enrichment attributes The firmographic and technographic fields appended to destination records. | Custom Objects Org-specific MDA tables with the __gc suffix; discoverable via the Describe API so field mappings can be generated automatically. | Enrichment attributes is specific to Clearbit and Custom Objects to Gainsight — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Persons Individual profiles looked up by email and used to enrich contacts and leads. | Person (People) Contacts associated to companies through the Company Person junction; synced two-way with CRM contacts and warehouse person records. | Persons is specific to Clearbit and Person (People) to Gainsight — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Reveal matches IP-to-company resolutions used to identify anonymous website traffic. | Relationship Sub-units within a company for multi-product or multi-team accounts; synced so each maps to the right contract in billing or an ERP. | Reveal matches is specific to Clearbit and Relationship to Gainsight — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Name-to-domain lookups Company name resolution used to normalize account records before enrichment. | CTA (Call to Action) Risk and expansion alerts that drive CSM plays; often synced to ticketing or project tools so follow-up work is tracked where teams operate. | Name-to-domain lookups is specific to Clearbit and CTA (Call to Action) to Gainsight — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionClearbit notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. On-demand lookups.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Gainsight through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionStacksync polls Gainsight for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on the ModifiedDate (GS Modified Date) system field, which is filterable and sortable on every object.
DeliveryClearbit does not accept inbound record writes, so this direction carries requests rather than records: Clearbit's output flows back as field updates on the originating Gainsight records.

Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time integration between Clearbit and Gainsight — Clearbit is a read-only source, so data flows from it into the other system: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync, map fields visually, and changes propagate in milliseconds — no code required.
On the Gainsight side: Scorecard Fact, Timeline Activity, Success Plan, Task and Playbook, plus custom fields where Gainsight exposes them. On the Clearbit side: Name-to-domain lookups, Enrichment attributes, Companies, Persons. Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Clearbit is a read-only source, so this integration runs one-way: Stacksync reads from Clearbit in real time and delivers into Gainsight. Field mapping and monitoring work the same as for two-way pairs.
Common patterns for Clearbit and Gainsight: Where Gainsight can store CRM context: fields kept current; Where Gainsight handles support or shared inboxes; Where Gainsight supplies contact or company data. Owner, lifecycle stage, or account details from Clearbit sync into Gainsight, so people working there have the context without switching tools.
Clearbit: REST API (separate endpoints per product: Enrichment, Reveal). Authentication: API key (bearer secret key). Gainsight: REST APIs (per-object) and asynchronous Bulk REST API. Authentication: API access key passed in the 'accesskey' request header (non-expiring), generated by a Gainsight admin; M2M OAuth (Client ID/Secret) is also supported. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Gainsight: There is no general change-event stream; near-real-time outbound is limited to Rules Engine Real-Time Rules configured per event topic, so continuous sync relies on ModifiedDate polling. Clearbit: Lookups can resolve asynchronously: the API may accept a request and deliver the completed record later via webhook, which sync logic must accommodate. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Clearbit and Gainsight without custom code.
