Two-way sync
Changes in Braintree or Vitally instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Braintree and Vitally in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Finance and sales describe the same customers in different systems. Vitally knows the relationship: who the contacts are and what is in motion with the account. Braintree knows the money: what was invoiced, what was paid, what is overdue. When the two are connected only by exports, each side works partly blind.
Stacksync links Subscriptions, Plans, Disputes, Add-ons and Discounts in Braintree to NPS Response, Custom Trait, Account, User in Vitally with bi-directional, real-time sync. New customers, updated billing details, invoice status, and payment activity move in whichever direction you configure, field by field, with conflicts resolved by rules you set. The result is one version of each customer, visible from both sides.
Finance sees the account owner and relationship history from Vitally when chasing a balance, and sales sees that the chase is happening.
A won opportunity creates or updates the customer in Braintree with the right billing details, so invoicing starts without re-keying.
Invoice and payment status from Braintree appears on the account in Vitally, so reps see overdue balances before they promise the next order.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Braintree objects | Vitally objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscriptions Recurring billing agreements tied to a Plan and a Payment Method; created, updated, and canceled via the API and emitting webhooks on every lifecycle change. | Conversation Customer conversations logged in Vitally; activity objects include parent object details in the payload. | Subscriptions is specific to Braintree and Conversation to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Plans Recurring billing plans (price, billing cycle) configured in the Control Panel; readable through the API but not creatable, so they sync one-way. | NPS Response NPS survey responses for account-health reporting. | Plans is specific to Braintree and NPS Response to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Disputes Chargebacks with evidence and deadlines; ops teams can respond and add evidence via the API, and dispute webhooks push status changes to downstream tools. | Custom Trait Custom account and user traits for segmentation. | Disputes is specific to Braintree and Custom Trait to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Add-ons and Discounts Modifiers applied to Subscriptions; defined in the Control Panel and read alongside subscription state when mirroring billing data. | Account Core customer account records with health scores and lifecycle traits; created, updated, retrieved, and listed via the REST API. | Add-ons and Discounts is specific to Braintree and Account to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Merchant Accounts and Disbursements The accounts funds settle into plus settlement batches paid out; disbursement webhooks and settlement batch reports drive reconciliation feeds. | User End users tied to accounts, including activity and custom traits. | Merchant Accounts and Disbursements is specific to Braintree and User to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Customers Vaulted customer profiles that hold payment methods; created and updated two-way via the API and searchable by created/updated date range. | Organization Parent organizations for hierarchical B2B account structures. | Customers is specific to Braintree and Organization to Vitally — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionBraintree notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks (subscription, transaction, dispute, disbursement, payment method, account updater) for near-real-time events, plus created/updated.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Vitally through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Braintree and Vitally: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Braintree's Subscriptions and Plans), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Braintree and Vitally: Collections with context; Where Vitally tracks deals: closed-won creates the finance record; Payment status on the account. Finance sees the account owner and relationship history from Vitally when chasing a balance, and sales sees that the chase is happening.
Braintree: Braintree GraphQL API (single POST endpoint) plus legacy server SDKs. Authentication: API Key authentication — public key + private key Base64-encoded in the Authorization header (HTTP Basic); client tokens/tokenization keys for client-side calls and OAuth for platform/marketplace access. Vitally: REST API with cursor-based pagination (sortable by createdAt/updatedAt). Authentication: API key via Basic Auth; keys created in Settings -> Integrations -> REST API and individually revocable. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Braintree: The Vault stores payment methods as tokens; raw card numbers are never returned for PCI reasons, so only tokens, last-four, and expiry are syncable. Vitally: No native change-data-capture stream; incremental sync relies on updatedAt-sorted cursor pagination. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Braintree and Vitally without custom code.
