Two-way sync
Changes in Braintree or Gatekeeper instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Braintree and Gatekeeper in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Braintree holds the financial truth: who the customers are, what they were billed, what they paid. Gatekeeper is where part of the day-to-day work happens, and that work often involves the same customers and transactions. Without a live connection, the two drift apart, and people end up answering questions from stale copies.
Stacksync keeps Subscriptions, Plans, Disputes, Add-ons and Discounts in Braintree and Workflow form data, Custom data groups, Users, Categories in Gatekeeper in sync, bi-directionally and in real time. Whatever records Gatekeeper keeps and whatever events it produces, the overlap with Braintree is mapped field by field, and a change on either side shows up on the other within seconds.
There is no middleware to build, no API rate limits to babysit, and no nightly job that leaves the morning running on yesterday's data.
Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Braintree next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.
Payment and charge activity flows into Braintree as it happens, so the books reflect reality without manual reconciliation.
A customer's details updated in either system update the other, so finance and the rest of the business stop maintaining two versions of the same customer.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Braintree objects | Gatekeeper objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add-ons and Discounts Modifiers applied to Subscriptions; defined in the Control Panel and read alongside subscription state when mirroring billing data. | Files Document files attached to contracts and vendors - executed PDFs, certificates, and compliance evidence; read to pull signed files and evidence out, or written to push generated documents in. | Add-ons and Discounts is specific to Braintree and Files to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Merchant Accounts and Disbursements The accounts funds settle into plus settlement batches paid out; disbursement webhooks and settlement batch reports drive reconciliation feeds. | Workflow form data The structured data captured on Gatekeeper workflow forms (intake requests, vendor onboarding, risk assessments); exposed by the API since 2025 so form results sync into an operational database, not only contract and vendor records. | Merchant Accounts and Disbursements is specific to Braintree and Workflow form data to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Customers Vaulted customer profiles that hold payment methods; created and updated two-way via the API and searchable by created/updated date range. | Custom data groups Customer-configured custom fields and data groups; because the JSON:API and its docs are dynamic, any custom data added in Configuration exposes the same read/write endpoints as the standard objects and syncs the same way. | Customers is specific to Braintree and Custom data groups to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Transactions Sales, refunds, and credits; created through the API but immutable after that (only void/refund/settle transitions), so syncs treat them as append-only with status changes. | Users Gatekeeper user and team records governed by role-based access; read to map contract and vendor owners, approvers, and internal contacts to CRM or HR records. | Transactions is specific to Braintree and Users to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Payment Methods Tokenized credit cards, PayPal accounts, and other instruments stored in the Vault against a Customer; only tokens, last-four, and expiry are exposed, never raw PAN. | Categories The classification taxonomy applied to contracts and vendors (type, department, business unit); synced so categorization stays consistent between Gatekeeper and downstream reporting or ERP dimensions. | Payment Methods is specific to Braintree and Categories to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Subscriptions Recurring billing agreements tied to a Plan and a Payment Method; created, updated, and canceled via the API and emitting webhooks on every lifecycle change. | Contracts The core contract records holding value, key dates, renewal terms, status, type, owner, and the linked vendor; created, read, updated, and deleted so contract data moves two-way between Gatekeeper and a database, ERP, or CRM. | Subscriptions is specific to Braintree and Contracts to Gatekeeper — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionBraintree notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks (subscription, transaction, dispute, disbursement, payment method, account updater) for near-real-time events, plus created/updated.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Gatekeeper through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionStacksync polls Gatekeeper for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. No native developer webhook subscription API and no database change-data-capture log.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Braintree through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Braintree and Gatekeeper with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Braintree and Gatekeeper objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Braintree and Gatekeeper: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Braintree's Add-ons and Discounts and Merchant Accounts and Disbursements), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Braintree: Braintree GraphQL API (single POST endpoint) plus legacy server SDKs. Authentication: API Key authentication — public key + private key Base64-encoded in the Authorization header (HTTP Basic); client tokens/tokenization keys for client-side calls and OAuth for platform/marketplace access. Gatekeeper: RESTful API following the JSON:API specification, tenant-scoped with interactive docs at {tenant}.gatekeeperhq.com/api_docs and a published Postman collection. The API is dynamic: it exposes the standard Contract and Vendor objects plus any custom data groups and workflow-form data configured in the tenant. Authentication: API keys created and managed under Configuration > API Keys and passed as a token; each key carries granular per-endpoint permissions set to read-only or write, so access is scoped per object. Multiple keys can be issued and revoked independently. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Braintree: The Vault stores payment methods as tokens; raw card numbers are never returned for PCI reasons, so only tokens, last-four, and expiry are syncable. Gatekeeper: There is no native developer webhook subscription API and no database CDC log; change detection is polling by updated-at. Event-driven automation lives in Gatekeeper's Workflow Engine and Interconnect, inside the platform. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Braintree and Gatekeeper without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Braintree and Gatekeeper records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Braintree and Gatekeeper connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Braintree–Gatekeeper integration in-house.
Yes — Stacksync ships production-grade connectors for both Braintree and Gatekeeper. The connectors handle authentication, schema detection, rate limits, and retries; you configure the sync, and Stacksync operates it.
