Two-way sync
Changes in Bill or Twilio instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Bill and Twilio in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Bill holds the financial truth: who the customers are, what they were billed, what they paid. Twilio is where part of the day-to-day work happens, and that work often involves the same customers and transactions. Without a live connection, the two drift apart, and people end up answering questions from stale copies.
Stacksync keeps Chart of Accounts, Bank Accounts, Vendor Credits and Credit Memos, Bills in Bill and Incoming Phone Numbers, Outgoing Caller IDs, Accounts, Roles in Twilio in sync, bi-directionally and in real time. Whatever records Twilio keeps and whatever events it produces, the overlap with Bill is mapped field by field, and a change on either side shows up on the other within seconds.
There is no middleware to build, no API rate limits to babysit, and no nightly job that leaves the morning running on yesterday's data.
Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Bill next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.
Payment and charge activity flows into Bill as it happens, so the books reflect reality without manual reconciliation.
A customer's details updated in either system update the other, so finance and the rest of the business stop maintaining two versions of the same customer.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Bill objects | Twilio objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vendor Credits and Credit Memos AP and AR adjustments applied against bills and invoices; synced so balances stay accurate on both sides. | Messaging Services Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Vendor Credits and Credit Memos is specific to Bill and Messaging Services to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Bills Accounts-payable amounts owed to vendors, with bill line items; read and created via /v3/bills and pulled incrementally by filtering on createdTime/updatedTime. | Calls Voice call records with duration and outcome, commonly mirrored to support and sales systems. | Bills is specific to Bill and Calls to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Vendors Payee master records; synced two-way with vendor/supplier tables in an ERP or accounting system so new payees don't have to be re-keyed. | Incoming Phone Numbers Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Vendors is specific to Bill and Incoming Phone Numbers to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Invoices Accounts-receivable invoices sent to customers; created and read via /v3/invoices to keep billing status aligned with the ERP or CRM. | Outgoing Caller IDs Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Invoices is specific to Bill and Outgoing Caller IDs to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Customers AR customer master records; mapped to customer/account records in a CRM or ERP so finance and sales share one view. | Accounts Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Customers is specific to Bill and Accounts to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Payments Outgoing vendor payments and received customer payments; read for reconciliation and created to schedule bill pay. | Roles Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Payments is specific to Bill and Roles to Twilio — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionBill notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhook event subscriptions (POST /v3/subscriptions) for bills, vendors, payments, invoices, and bank accounts, with polling on.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Twilio through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Pick the Bill and Twilio objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Bill and Twilio: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Bill's Vendor Credits and Credit Memos and Bills), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Bill and Twilio: Where Twilio handles customer conversations: billing context in view; Where Twilio collects payments or triggers charges: events land in Bill; Where Twilio tracks people or companies: one identity. Front-line teams see invoice and payment status from Bill next to the customer they are helping, without logging into the finance system.
Bill: REST/JSON (BILL v3 Connect API). Authentication: Session-based: POST /v3/login with username, password, organizationId, and a developer key (devKey) returns a sessionId that is passed with the devKey as headers on every subsequent call; OAuth is available for partner/embedded apps. Twilio: REST API (per-product APIs for Messaging, Voice, Conversations, Verify). Authentication: Account SID + Auth Token (copied from Twilio Console Account Info and entered into the Stacksync Twilio connector). Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Bill: The v3 Connect API is REST/JSON; direct integrations authenticate with a session from POST /v3/login using a developer key, organization ID, username, and password, and the sessionId is scoped to that devKey. Twilio: Docs document read support only — no write-back column appears in any object table. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Bill and Twilio without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Bill and Twilio records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Bill and Twilio connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Bill–Twilio integration in-house.
