Anthropic turns data into something a revenue team can act on: scores, classifications, summaries, and embeddings. But the customers those results describe live in Xactly, where reps and marketers actually work. Intelligence that stays inside Anthropic rarely reaches the record where a decision gets made, and Anthropic is only as sharp as the data it sees, which is also held in Xactly.

Because the mapping is field-level, you choose exactly which attributes cross and in which direction, so Xactly stays the record of the customer while Anthropic stays where the computation happens.

How changes propagate between Anthropic and Xactly

Rate-limit considerations

  • Anthropic: Messages API limits are per usage tier: requests-per-minute plus input- and output-tokens-per-minute, surfaced in anthropic-ratelimit-* response headers with retry-after on 429. Usage/cost reports recommend polling at most once per minute.
  • Xactly: Xactly does not publish numeric per-second rate limits. The Connect platform enforces query concurrency and long-running-query limits, so large extracts are paged and heavy loads/queries run as asynchronous Connect jobs (submit, then retrieve results) rather than row-by-row calls; batch loads are the supported path for high volume.

How the Anthropic and Xactly connectors work

Authentication
API key in the x-api-key header for Messages, Models, Files, and Batches endpoints; the Admin API requires a separate Admin API key (sk-ant-admin...) with organization-admin permission. Every request also sends an anthropic-version header.

Polling. Usage and cost reports are queried by time bucket (1m/1h/1d) over a date range; list endpoints paginate with has_more/next_page (or after_id). No general-purpose data-change webhooks (webhooks exist only for Managed Agents session state).

Xactly

Integration surface
Xactly Connect REST API v2 (JSON), plus ODBC/JDBC drivers over the same ANSI-SQL data model. Incent data is exposed as SQL-queryable objects (for example xactly_order, xactly_credit, xactly_transaction, xactly_payment); data is loaded and extracted through Connect load/query steps and server-side ETL Pipelines. The base host is region/pod-specific (for example https://<pod>.xactlycorp.com).
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 via the Xactly Connect API Gateway (bearer tokens issued on behalf of an Xactly Incent user), with HTTP Basic authentication using a dedicated Xactly Connect service-user's credentials also supported for the Connect REST API v2. The connecting user needs Connect/API access plus the relevant object permissions in Incent.
Change detection
No CDC log for external tools to consume. Incremental sync uses SQL predicates on modified/last-updated timestamp columns (for example WHERE modified_date > watermark) against Connect's queryable objects, or scheduled Connect ETL Pipelines that pull deltas since the last run. Xactly Connect has no outbound HTTP webhooks, so change detection is pull/ETL-based.
