Why teams connect Anthropic and Gong

Flow Anthropic data into Gong in real time — no exports, no schedulers, no custom scripts.

Anthropic is a read-only source: Stacksync reads its data in real time and delivers it into Gong, so Gong always reflects the current state of Anthropic — without exports, scripts, or schedulers.

Anthropic turns data into something a revenue team can act on: scores, classifications, summaries, and embeddings. But the customers those results describe live in Gong, where reps and marketers actually work. Intelligence that stays inside Anthropic rarely reaches the record where a decision gets made, and Anthropic is only as sharp as the data it sees, which is also held in Gong.

Because the mapping is field-level, you choose exactly which attributes cross and in which direction, so Gong stays the record of the customer while Anthropic stays where the computation happens.

Common use cases

  • 01 Pull the Usage Report into a warehouse to attribute Claude token spend by workspace, model, and API key for internal chargeback.
  • 02 Sync the Cost Report into a finance database or FinOps tool for daily AI-spend reporting alongside other vendor costs.
  • 03 Pull call Transcripts by callId into a warehouse or vector store to power search, RAG, and deal-review summaries over what was said on calls.
  • 04 Sync Interaction Stats such as talk ratios and per-rep activity into a coaching database for engagement and rep-performance dashboards.

Common sync patterns

Where Anthropic classifies or tags: labels sync onto the record

Categories, sentiment, or intent produced in Anthropic attach to the right contact, account, or deal in Gong, keeping segmentation current as new data arrives.

Where Anthropic indexes records for retrieval: Gong keeps it fresh

Contacts, accounts, and notes from Gong sync into Anthropic as they change, so embeddings or search stay aligned with the live CRM instead of a stale export.

Where Anthropic summarizes or drafts: text where reps read it

Summaries, next steps, or drafted messages generated in Anthropic write back onto the account or deal in Gong, next to the relationship they describe.

What you can sync between Anthropic and Gong

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Anthropic objects Gong objects How this pairing syncs
Message Batches Asynchronous batch jobs at /v1/messages/batches; the connector polls processing_status and reads per-request results keyed by custom_id once a batch has ended. Interaction Stats (Activity) Aggregated talk/listen ratios, interaction stats, and day-by-day user activity retrieved via POST /v2/stats endpoints; read out for coaching and engagement reporting. Read-only. Message Batches is specific to Anthropic and Interaction Stats (Activity) to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Models Claude model catalog from /v1/models with model IDs, context window, max output, and capability flags; snapshotted into a config table so applications avoid hardcoding model IDs. Trackers & Scorecards Keyword and topic tracker definitions plus coaching scorecards, including answered scorecards, read from Settings as coaching and deal-risk signals. Read-only. Models is specific to Anthropic and Trackers & Scorecards to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Usage Report (messages) Time-bucketed token usage (uncached input, cached input, cache creation, output) grouped by workspace, model, API key, and service tier from /v1/organizations/usage_report/messages; read-only, queried by date range at 1m/1h/1d bucket width. CRM Objects Accounts, opportunities, stages, and users uploaded into Gong through the CRM integration API so CRM context appears alongside conversations. Write (upload) path. Usage Report (messages) is specific to Anthropic and CRM Objects to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Cost Report Daily USD cost broken down by workspace, model, and cost type from /v1/organizations/cost_report; read-only, polled by date range for chargeback and FinOps reporting. Library Call-library folders and folder content (curated calls and snippets) read via GET /v2/library/folders and /v2/library/folder-content. Read-only. Cost Report is specific to Anthropic and Library to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Workspaces Organization workspaces from the Admin API (/v1/organizations/workspaces); synced read-mostly so usage, keys, and members can be mapped to the workspace they belong to. Data Privacy (Erasure) GDPR/CCPA deletion handled by POST /v2/data-privacy/erase-data-for-email, with data-for-email lookups on the read side; a write path used for compliance deletions. Workspaces is specific to Anthropic and Data Privacy (Erasure) to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Organization Members Users in the organization with their role from /v1/organizations/users; read into an IdP or HR database for access auditing rather than written back. Calls Retrieved via POST /v2/calls/extensive with participants, topics, trackers, scorecards, and media URLs, filtered by fromDateTime/toDateTime; external recordings are also imported via POST /v2/calls with media uploaded via PUT /v2/calls/{id}/media. Read and write. Organization Members is specific to Anthropic and Calls to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Anthropic and Gong

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Anthropic Gong Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Anthropic for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Gong through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Gong Anthropic Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Gong for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling POST /v2/calls/extensive on fromDateTime/toDateTime.

DeliveryAnthropic does not accept inbound record writes, so this direction carries requests rather than records: Anthropic's output flows back as field updates on the originating Gong records.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Anthropic: Messages API limits are per usage tier: requests-per-minute plus input- and output-tokens-per-minute, surfaced in anthropic-ratelimit-* response headers with retry-after on 429. Usage/cost reports recommend polling at most once per minute.
  • Gong: 3 API calls per second and 10,000 calls per day per company by default; exceeding returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header, and limits can be raised by contacting Gong.

How the Anthropic and Gong connectors work

Anthropic

Integration surface
REST — Messages API at api.anthropic.com/v1 plus the Admin API (/v1/organizations/*) for organization, usage, and cost data
Authentication
API key in the x-api-key header for Messages, Models, Files, and Batches endpoints; the Admin API requires a separate Admin API key (sk-ant-admin...) with organization-admin permission. Every request also sends an anthropic-version header.
Change detection
Polling. Usage and cost reports are queried by time bucket (1m/1h/1d) over a date range; list endpoints paginate with has_more/next_page (or after_id). No general-purpose data-change webhooks (webhooks exist only for Managed Agents session state).
Capabilities

Rate limits
Messages API limits are per usage tier: requests-per-minute plus input- and output-tokens-per-minute, surfaced in anthropic-ratelimit-* response headers with retry-after on 429. Usage/cost reports recommend polling at most once per minute.

Gong

Integration surface
REST API on api.gong.io/v2 - retrieval endpoints (calls, transcript, users, stats, settings, library, logs) plus write endpoints for importing calls, uploading CRM data, and data-privacy erasure
Authentication
Basic authorization header combining an Access Key and Access Key Secret (created by a Gong technical admin, base64-encoded as key:secret); OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens are supported for marketplace apps
Change detection
Polling POST /v2/calls/extensive on fromDateTime/toDateTime; the public API exposes no outbound webhooks or CDC, though a Gong admin can configure a product-side automation Rule that POSTs matching calls to a URL. Transcripts and analysis appear only after asynchronous processing.
Capabilities
read · write
Rate limits
3 API calls per second and 10,000 calls per day per company by default; exceeding returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header, and limits can be raised by contacting Gong.
