Two-way sync
Changes in SendGrid or Smartsheet instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep SendGrid and Smartsheet in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Two tools in the daily stack often hold overlapping information: the same people, the same companies, or the same pieces of work, described twice. The tools do different jobs, so consolidating is not the answer; the overlap just needs to stop drifting.
Stacksync syncs List, Segments, Categories, Senders in SendGrid with Reports, Attachments, Discussions and Comments, Users and Groups in Smartsheet in real time. You choose which records overlap, map the fields that should match, and pick a direction or let changes flow both ways. From then on, an update made in either tool is reflected in the other within seconds, without exports or copy-paste.
Because the sync is field-level, each tool keeps its own extras; only the shared data is held in agreement.
Information that originates in SendGrid stays current in Smartsheet instead of going stale after a one-time paste.
When work started in one tool continues in the other, the shared fields travel with it automatically.
Contact and company details corrected in either tool update the other, so nobody works from the old version.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| SendGrid objects | Smartsheet objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Senders Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Columns Define sheet schema and cell type (TEXT_NUMBER, DATE, CONTACT_LIST, PICKLIST, CHECKBOX); read via the API so field mappings can be generated. | Senders is specific to SendGrid and Columns to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Single Sends One-off marketing campaigns whose stats are read back for reporting. | Cells Row-by-column values; writes must match the column type and no single cell can exceed 4,000 characters. | Single Sends is specific to SendGrid and Cells to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Unsubscribe Groups Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Reports Read-only roll-ups spanning multiple sheets; pulled into a warehouse for cross-sheet reporting, capped at 50,000 rows. | Unsubscribe Groups is specific to SendGrid and Reports to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Email Activity Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Attachments Files linked to rows or sheets; posting one carries a 10x rate cost, so bulk file sync is throttled to 30 per minute. | Email Activity is specific to SendGrid and Attachments to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Contacts Marketing recipients upserted from CRM or database records, including custom field values. | Discussions and Comments Threaded comments on rows and sheets; read out to sync collaboration history or activity into another system. | Contacts is specific to SendGrid and Discussions and Comments to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| List Synced with incremental and full sync per the Stacksync docs. | Users and Groups Account membership and sharing; synced to keep an HR or identity source aligned with sheet and workspace access. | List is specific to SendGrid and Users and Groups to Smartsheet — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionSendGrid notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Webhook posts delivery and engagement events (processed, delivered, open, click, bounce, spam report) to an HTTP endpoint.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Smartsheet through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionSmartsheet notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Sheet-scoped webhooks subscribed to *.* events notify on row and cell changes.

Real-time sync, workflow automation, event queues, EDI, and monitoring, for every SendGrid–Smartsheet connection.
Changes in SendGrid or Smartsheet instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Trigger automated workflows whenever SendGrid or Smartsheet data changes, update records, fire webhooks, or kick off sequences without brittle API scripts.
Handle millions of events per minute without losing a single SendGrid or Smartsheet record.
Track your SendGrid ⇄ Smartsheet sync health, view errors, and replay failed events in one click.
Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between SendGrid and Smartsheet.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate SendGrid and Smartsheet with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the SendGrid and Smartsheet objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between SendGrid and Smartsheet: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as SendGrid's Senders and Single Sends), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
SendGrid: REST API (v3). Authentication: API key (create in SendGrid Settings > API Keys with Custom Access / Full Access for the objects to sync; key begins with "SG"). Smartsheet: REST API (v2.0). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 authorization-code flow, or a raw/personal API access token passed as a Bearer header. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
SendGrid: Email Activity data retention depends on subscription level (typically 7 days by default, 30 days with the add-on). Smartsheet: Row add and update calls are limited to 500 rows per request, so large syncs are chunked. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between SendGrid and Smartsheet without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means SendGrid and Smartsheet records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed SendGrid and Smartsheet connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom SendGrid–Smartsheet integration in-house.
Yes — Stacksync ships production-grade connectors for both SendGrid and Smartsheet. The connectors handle authentication, schema detection, rate limits, and retries; you configure the sync, and Stacksync operates it.
As a data company, we understand the importance of keeping your data secure. Stacksync is built with security best practices to keep your data safe at every layer, and is DPF-certified for US, EU, UK and CH data transfers.
