Why teams connect Rollworks and Zuora

Put revenue reality behind every campaign: Zuora and Rollworks share the same customers, contacts, and billing status in real time, in both directions.

Zuora records the money — who pays, how much, and whether they are current; Rollworks decides who hears from the business and what they hear. The two overlap wherever the same customers and contacts matter to both, and when that overlap is bridged by CSV exports or an overnight batch, campaigns target on stale billing data and finance works from lists marketing has already changed underneath it.

Stacksync syncs Rate Plan and Rate Plan Charge, Product and Product Rate Plan (Product Catalog), Invoice, Payment in Zuora with Ad Groups and Ads, Reporting and Attribution, Target Account Lists, Account Tiers in Rollworks field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — finance keeps the revenue and payment truth, marketing keeps consent and engagement — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Two-way sync of Accounts and Subscriptions with an operational Postgres database so product and finance teams read billing state in SQL while changes flow back into Zuora.
  • 02 Master the Product Catalog (Products and Product Rate Plans) in a database or PIM and write pricing changes into Zuora.
  • 03 Create and edit Prospecting v2 Campaigns and Ad Groups programmatically so budgets and targeting stay in step with an internal planning system.
  • 04 Consolidate account-level ad engagement by domain into a reporting database to join RollWorks spend against CRM Opportunities.

Common sync patterns

Consent and contact details stay aligned

Email, phone, address, and opt-out flags kept in either system stay consistent in the other, so every send and record honors the latest preferences.

Revenue and billing signals reach the audience

Plan tier, spend, or payment status from Zuora lands on the matching record in Rollworks, so segments and targeting reflect who actually pays and how much.

One customer and contact list

Where both systems keep customer or contact records, an edit on either side propagates to the other, ending dual maintenance and the drift it creates.

What you can sync between Rollworks and Zuora

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Rollworks objects Zuora objects How this pairing syncs
Reporting and Attribution Delivery and attribution metrics (impressions, clicks, cost, conversions, view-throughs) from the GraphQL Reporting API; read-only, aggregated by campaign, ad, and account domain. Order and Amendment Records of subscription create and change actions; written to Zuora to drive quote-to-cash and read for subscription change history. Reporting and Attribution is specific to Rollworks and Order and Amendment to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Target Account Lists Named lists of B2B accounts for ABM; managed through /audience/v1/target_accounts so a CRM or warehouse can push and reconcile the accounts RollWorks advertises against. Account (Billing Account) The customer billing entity holding contacts, payment methods, and billing settings; synced two-way as the parent record most other Zuora objects hang off. Target Account Lists is specific to Rollworks and Account (Billing Account) to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Account Tiers Groups within a Target Account List; an account belongs to only one tier per list, so tier assignments are written from source-of-truth data to drive tiered targeting. Subscription Recurring or usage-based subscription tied to an Account; read for revenue state and written when provisioning or changing plans from a CRM or app. Account Tiers is specific to Rollworks and Subscription to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Accounts (TAL Items) Individual accounts identified by domain; added or removed via the tier items endpoint (POST/DELETE) so an operational database can control which domains are targeted. Rate Plan and Rate Plan Charge The priced components inside a Subscription; synced so charge amounts, quantities, and effective dates stay aligned with the source system. Accounts (TAL Items) is specific to Rollworks and Rate Plan and Rate Plan Charge to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Audience Segments CRM (email), custom (cookie or ID), and lookalike segments created via /audience/v1/segments; membership is written from a warehouse with a duration of 1 to 540 days. Product and Product Rate Plan (Product Catalog) The catalog of sellable products and their pricing; usually mastered elsewhere and written into Zuora, or read to map subscription charges. Audience Segments is specific to Rollworks and Product and Product Rate Plan (Product Catalog) to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Campaigns Prospecting v2 campaigns running on Web and LinkedIn with budget, KPI, and flight settings; created and edited via API and read back for status and pacing. Invoice Billing documents generated from rate plan charges and order line items; typically read out into an ERP or GL for revenue recognition and reconciliation. Campaigns is specific to Rollworks and Invoice to Zuora — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Rollworks and Zuora

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Rollworks Zuora Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Rollworks for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling — reporting is pulled via GraphQL queries and account/audience membership is reconciled on a schedule.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Zuora through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Zuora Rollworks Sub-second propagation

DetectionZuora notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Incremental extraction on the indexed UpdatedDate column via ZOQL/AQuA stateful mode (high-water mark), plus Callout Notifications (webhooks) for.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Rollworks: NextRoll does not publish explicit rate limits; access tokens expire 24 hours after issue and refresh tokens rotate on use, so long-running syncs must keep refreshing credentials.
  • Zuora: Concurrency limits: 40 concurrent requests by default, 80 for Object Queries, 200 for high-volume operations (doubled for Performance Booster); HTTP 429 on breach with exponential backoff; OAuth token endpoint is not bound by the limit.
