Pinecone: Two HTTP APIs: a control plane at api.pinecone.io (manage indexes, collections, backups, and, via the Admin API, projects and API keys) and a per-index data plane at the host returned by describe_index (upsert, query, fetch, update, delete, list). A gRPC data-plane transport is available through the official SDKs. Authentication: API key in the Api-Key request header, scoped to one project; every request also sends an X-Pinecone-Api-Version header (date-based, e.g. 2025-10). The organization Admin API instead uses OAuth2 client-credentials (service accounts) via login.pinecone.io/oauth/token, passing a Bearer token to api.pinecone.io/admin (Enterprise). Sage 100: ODBC (ProvideX driver) for reads; Business Object Interface (BOI) or Sage-provided web services for writes. Authentication: Sage 100 company and user credentials; ODBC DSN credentials for direct reads. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Pinecone: Pinecone has no webhooks and no native change-data-capture stream for vector changes; vectors carry no update timestamp, so change detection is by re-reading (list + fetch on serverless indexes) or by source-driven upserts. Sage 100: Writes should go through the Business Object Interface rather than direct file access, so module validation and GL postings are enforced. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Pinecone and Sage 100 without custom code.
