Two-way sync
Changes in Ironclad or SAP instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Ironclad and SAP in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
The ERP holds the records the business is run on, and it is rarely where day-to-day work happens. Ironclad is closer to the work, and the two often need the same facts about the same people, organizations, and transactions. Bridging them by hand, or by nightly file transfer, leaves each side out of date for hours at a time.
Stacksync syncs Entities, Obligations, Webhooks, Workflow Approvals in Ironclad with Outbound Deliveries, Billing Documents, GL Accounts and Journal Entries, Production Orders in SAP bi-directionally and in real time, with field-level mapping and rules for which system wins on conflict. Changes made where the work happens reach the system of record within seconds, and the reverse.
Order, invoice, or account status from SAP appears alongside the customer in Ironclad, so front-line teams answer from live data.
Payment events sync into SAP as they occur, keeping the enterprise records current without manual entry.
Worker and organization data from SAP stays current in Ironclad, so the tools people use daily reflect the org as it actually is.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Ironclad objects | SAP objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Signature Packets The e-signature packets on a workflow (sent, signatures collected, fully signed); read to track signing progress, with packet events delivered by webhook for real-time status. | Purchase Orders Procurement documents synced with supplier portals and spend tools. | Signature Packets is specific to Ironclad and Purchase Orders to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflow Documents Draft and executed documents attached to a workflow; retrieved to pull generated or signed files out into a document store or archive. | Outbound Deliveries Shipment documents synced to WMS, carriers, and customer portals. | Workflow Documents is specific to Ironclad and Outbound Deliveries to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Workflows The core unit of Ironclad: a live contract process (NDA, MSA, order form) moving through creation, review, approval, and signature. Launched via POST, updated via PATCH, and read for status, so contract processes move two-way between Ironclad and a database, CRM, or ERP. | Billing Documents Invoices read for AR status and replicated for revenue reporting. | Workflows is specific to Ironclad and Billing Documents to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Records The Repository of executed and stored contracts with metadata (value, counterparty, key dates, type) and attachments; full create, read, update, and delete so signed-contract data and PDFs sync to a warehouse, ERP, or CRM. | GL Accounts and Journal Entries Financial postings replicated to warehouses for group finance analytics. | Records is specific to Ironclad and GL Accounts and Journal Entries to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Entities Structured records for counterparties and other parties linked to workflows and records; read and written to keep company and vendor master data aligned with a CRM or ERP. | Production Orders Manufacturing orders exchanged with MES and scheduling systems. | Entities is specific to Ironclad and Production Orders to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Obligations Post-signature commitments, milestones, and renewal dates tied to contracts; synced two-way to drive renewal, compliance, and finance reporting in downstream systems. | Inventory / Stock Plant and storage-location quantities synced to storefronts and planning tools. | Obligations is specific to Ironclad and Inventory / Stock to SAP — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionIronclad notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to SAP through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionSAP notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Business events via SAP Event Mesh on S/4HANA.

Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Ironclad and SAP with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Ironclad and SAP objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Ironclad and SAP: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Ironclad's Signature Packets and Workflow Documents), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Ironclad and SAP: Where Ironclad faces customers and SAP carries account records; Where Ironclad collects payments: transactions post through; Where SAP is the HR or people system of record. Order, invoice, or account status from SAP appears alongside the customer in Ironclad, so front-line teams answer from live data.
Ironclad: REST/JSON Public API (CLM API) at https://na1.ironcladapp.com/public/api/v1 (NA1 and EU1 regions plus a demo/sandbox), with a native Webhooks subscription API; described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22. SAP: OData (v2/v4) APIs on S/4HANA; BAPI/RFC and IDoc on ECC and on-prem systems; SOAP services. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 or basic auth via communication arrangements on cloud editions; SAP user credentials for RFC on-prem. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Ironclad: The Public API is write-capable: you can launch and bulk-launch workflows, update workflow attributes, and create, update, or delete records, entities, and obligations - it is not a read-only export. SAP: Direct access to the underlying HANA database is generally restricted, so change capture relies on business events, change pointers, or API polling rather than database-level CDC. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Ironclad and SAP without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Ironclad and SAP records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Ironclad and SAP connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Ironclad–SAP integration in-house.
As a data company, we understand the importance of keeping your data secure. Stacksync is built with security best practices to keep your data safe at every layer, and is DPF-certified for US, EU, UK and CH data transfers.
