Two-way sync
Changes in Gong or Workday instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Gong and Workday in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Finance and sales describe the same customers in different systems. Gong knows the relationship: who the contacts are and what is in motion with the account. Workday knows the money: what was invoiced, what was paid, what is overdue. When the two are connected only by exports, each side works partly blind.
Stacksync links Workers, Organizations, Positions, Compensation in Workday to Data Privacy (Erasure), Calls, Transcripts, Users in Gong with bi-directional, real-time sync. New customers, updated billing details, invoice status, and payment activity move in whichever direction you configure, field by field, with conflicts resolved by rules you set. The result is one version of each customer, visible from both sides.
Finance sees the account owner and relationship history from Gong when chasing a balance, and sales sees that the chase is happening.
A won opportunity creates or updates the customer in Workday with the right billing details, so invoicing starts without re-keying.
Invoice and payment status from Workday appears on the account in Gong, so reps see overdue balances before they promise the next order.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Gong objects | Workday objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data Privacy (Erasure) GDPR/CCPA deletion handled by POST /v2/data-privacy/erase-data-for-email, with data-for-email lookups on the read side; a write path used for compliance deletions. | Customers and Invoices Financials receivables objects synced for billing visibility where Workday Financials is used. | Data Privacy (Erasure) is specific to Gong and Customers and Invoices to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Calls Retrieved via POST /v2/calls/extensive with participants, topics, trackers, scorecards, and media URLs, filtered by fromDateTime/toDateTime; external recordings are also imported via POST /v2/calls with media uploaded via PUT /v2/calls/{id}/media. Read and write. | Journal Entries Accounting entries imported from external subledgers into Workday Financials. | Calls is specific to Gong and Journal Entries to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Transcripts Speaker-attributed, timestamped sentences retrieved via POST /v2/calls/transcript for one or more callIds; available only after asynchronous processing completes. Read-only. | Custom Reports (RaaS) Tenant-defined reports exposed as web service endpoints, often the practical read surface for syncs. | Transcripts is specific to Gong and Custom Reports (RaaS) to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Users Gong users and team members with roles, titles, email, and settings, read via GET /v2/users to map call owners and participants to CRM and warehouse identities. Read-only. | Workers The central HCM record covering employment, job, and personal data; the anchor of most syncs. | Users is specific to Gong and Workers to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Interaction Stats (Activity) Aggregated talk/listen ratios, interaction stats, and day-by-day user activity retrieved via POST /v2/stats endpoints; read out for coaching and engagement reporting. Read-only. | Organizations Supervisory and company hierarchies read to drive routing and reporting in other systems. | Interaction Stats (Activity) is specific to Gong and Organizations to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Trackers & Scorecards Keyword and topic tracker definitions plus coaching scorecards, including answered scorecards, read from Settings as coaching and deal-risk signals. Read-only. | Positions Job seats synced with recruiting and planning tools. | Trackers & Scorecards is specific to Gong and Positions to Workday — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionStacksync polls Gong for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling POST /v2/calls/extensive on fromDateTime/toDateTime.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Workday through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Pick the Gong and Workday objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Gong and Workday: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Gong's Data Privacy (Erasure) and Calls), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Gong and Workday: Collections with context; Where Gong tracks deals: closed-won creates the finance record; Payment status on the account. Finance sees the account owner and relationship history from Gong when chasing a balance, and sales sees that the chase is happening.
Gong: REST API on api.gong.io/v2 - retrieval endpoints (calls, transcript, users, stats, settings, library, logs) plus write endpoints for importing calls, uploading CRM data, and data-privacy erasure. Authentication: Basic authorization header combining an Access Key and Access Key Secret (created by a Gong technical admin, base64-encoded as key:secret); OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens are supported for marketplace apps. Workday: SOAP Workday Web Services (WWS), a REST API, and Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS) endpoints for custom reports. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 for the REST API; integration system users with WS-Security or certificate-based auth for SOAP. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Workday: Any custom report can be exposed as a Reports-as-a-Service endpoint returning JSON or XML, and tenants often use RaaS as the primary extraction surface. Gong: Authentication uses a Basic authorization header built from an Access Key and Access Key Secret generated by a Gong technical admin, or OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens for marketplace apps. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Gong and Workday without custom code.
