Pendo: The only write path is the Metadata API, which sets custom Visitor and Account fields (single Set Value or bulk Set Values); it writes to writable groups such as custom and cannot create events or edit agent-collected fields. Elasticsearch: Writes are addressed by document _id, so upserts map directly onto the index API, and the _bulk endpoint batches many operations in a single request. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Elasticsearch and Pendo without custom code.
