Two-way sync
Changes in Docusign or Hibob instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Docusign and Hibob in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Each tool in Docusign keeps its own list of who can use it: users, members, or agents, along with the team they sit on and whether they are still active. Hibob is the authoritative record of the same people as employees, with their department, manager, and employment status. When those two are connected only by manual account admin or a periodic export, the work tools drift: new hires wait days for access, team and manager changes never catch up, and people who have left keep standing accounts.
Stacksync syncs Documents, Templates, Tabs (form fields), Envelope Custom Fields in Docusign with Work, Salaries, Time off, Lifecycle in Hibob bi-directionally and in real time. A person added, moved, or offboarded in Hibob creates or updates the matching user in Docusign within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of spreadsheets and one-off account changes. Where Docusign captures details of its own, such as a corrected contact or a login identity, those can flow back to Hibob in whichever direction you configure.
Because the sync is field-level, each system keeps its own extras; only the shared facts, who a person is, which team they belong to, and whether their access should be on, are held in agreement.
When someone is marked as leaving in Hibob, the matching account in Docusign is deactivated or flagged, so departures do not leave open access behind.
A person's name, title, contact details, or status corrected in either system updates the other, so both sides stop maintaining separate copies of the same person.
Department, team, and reporting-line changes from Hibob keep the groups, queues, or projects in Docusign assigned to the right people.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Docusign objects | Hibob objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Documents The PDF files inside an envelope plus the certificate of completion; read signed output out to a store, or supply source documents on create. | Documents Employee documents accessed under the Docs API; gated behind the Documents permission granted per service user. | Same entity on both sides — records pair one-to-one and field-level changes reconcile in both directions. | |
| Tabs (form fields) Signature, initial, date, text, and checkbox fields on a document; they carry the data a signer entered and are read out into databases. | Lifecycle Hire, termination, and leave status changes at /people/{id}/lifecycle; read-only and the source of lifecycle webhook events. | Tabs (form fields) is specific to Docusign and Lifecycle to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Envelope Custom Fields Text and list metadata used to tag envelopes for reporting; synced to a warehouse or CRM to key and categorize agreements. | Named lists Dropdown option lists such as departments and sites used to resolve field values when mapping People records during sync. | Envelope Custom Fields is specific to Docusign and Named lists to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Folders Containers such as Inbox, Sent, and Draft plus custom folders; listed and moved to organize envelopes and drive reporting queries. | People (Employees) Core employee records with out-of-the-box and custom fields; read via POST /people/search, created and updated through the /people endpoints. | Folders is specific to Docusign and People (Employees) to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Users Account members and senders; the eSignature Users resource exposes them for attribution and reporting, while bulk org-wide user provisioning uses the separate Admin API. | Employment Historical table of job terms, contract, and working pattern under /people/{id}/employment; full CRUD, entries keyed by effectiveDate. | Users is specific to Docusign and Employment to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Envelopes The core container for a signature request — documents, recipients, routing, and status; read status and metadata two-way, and create/send new envelopes. | Work Reporting line, department, site, and title under /people/{id}/work; drives the org chart and is synced two-way to directories. | Envelopes is specific to Docusign and Work to Hibob — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionDocusign notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Docusign Connect webhooks push envelope and recipient status-change events in real time.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Hibob through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.
DetectionHibob notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks fire for employee created/updated/deleted, table-entry created/updated, time off, and lifecycle events.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Docusign through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Docusign and Hibob: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Docusign's Documents and Tabs (form fields)), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
Common patterns for Docusign and Hibob: Offboarding: no standing access after a departure; One employee directory; Org and team structure kept current. When someone is marked as leaving in Hibob, the matching account in Docusign is deactivated or flagged, so departures do not leave open access behind.
Docusign: ESignature REST API v2.1 (plus Docusign Connect webhooks; separate CLM, Rooms, and Admin APIs). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 — Authorization Code Grant for interactive apps, or JWT Grant (RSA key pair with user impersonation) for server-to-server integrations. Hibob: REST API (the Bob API). Authentication: Service User credentials over HTTP Basic auth (Base64-encoded serviceUserId:serviceUserToken); permissions granted per data category (People, Payroll, Documents) in Bob admin. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Docusign: JWT Grant integrations require one-time admin consent and impersonate a specific Docusign user, and must respect Docusign's userinfo call-frequency guidance. Hibob: The employee.updated webhook flags which fields changed rather than sending the full record, so Bob recommends an API call for complete data; deleting a table entry triggers no webhook because Bob has no table-entry deletion event. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Docusign and Hibob without custom code.
Stacksync is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified with HIPAA BAA support. Data is encrypted in transit, and a zero-persistent-storage architecture means Docusign and Hibob records are not retained after a sync operation.
Stacksync pricing is usage-based and starts at $1,000/month, including the managed Docusign and Hibob connectors, real-time two-way sync, monitoring, and support. That replaces building and maintaining a custom Docusign–Hibob integration in-house.
