Why teams connect Cvent and Yellowbrick

Put modeled data to work and measure what it drives: Yellowbrick and Cvent keep contacts, audiences, and campaign results in step in real time, in both directions.

Yellowbrick is where your team models customers, product usage, and revenue into trusted tables; Cvent runs the campaigns, audiences, and messages that reach those people. The two overlap wherever the same person, account, or segment matters to both, and when the bridge between them is a nightly export or a hand-built list, marketing targets stale data while analytics never sees what the campaign returned.

Stacksync syncs Users and Roles, Databases, Schemas, Tables in Yellowbrick with Sessions, Speakers, Exhibitors, Surveys in Cvent field by field, in real time, and in both directions. You decide which system owns which fields — a computed score or segment can flow out to Cvent while sends, opens, and conversions flow back to Yellowbrick — and Stacksync keeps every copy consistent and resolves conflicts by rules you set.

Common use cases

  • 01 Push warehouse-computed aggregates or segments back into operational tools such as a CRM.
  • 02 Sync CRM and marketing data into Yellowbrick tables so it can be joined with large fact tables for enterprise BI.
  • 03 Sync Sessions and Speakers into a content database or agenda app so schedule and speaker changes propagate without manual re-entry.
  • 04 Read Budgets and event financials into an ERP or finance database to reconcile planned versus actual event spend.

Common sync patterns

Keep the contact and audience list current

New and updated contacts, leads, or audience members flow between Yellowbrick and Cvent, so the marketing audience reflects the people in your warehouse and corrections propagate instead of the two sides drifting apart.

Suppression and consent stay aligned

Unsubscribes, bounces, and consent or opt-out flags held in either system propagate to the other, so no one is messaged after opting out and Yellowbrick holds the current state for auditing.

Enrich records with warehouse context

Product-usage counts, plan tier, region, or account owner computed in Yellowbrick appear on the matching record in Cvent, so targeting, routing, and personalization use up-to-date context.

What you can sync between Cvent and Yellowbrick

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Cvent objects Yellowbrick objects How this pairing syncs
Attendees and Registrations Per-event registrants; written in from CRM or marketing signup flows via POST /ea/attendees and read back out to a warehouse for attendance and registration-status reporting. Schemas Namespaces used to organize synced datasets by source or domain. Attendees and Registrations is specific to Cvent and Schemas to Yellowbrick — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Sessions Agenda items within an event; listed or created through the API and synced so session-level attendance feeds reporting tables. Tables Columnar MPP tables; the primary targets for warehouse syncs. Sessions is specific to Cvent and Tables to Yellowbrick — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Speakers Speaker records tied to an event; synced two-way with a speaker database or CMS, with an updatedDate on each record for incremental pulls. Views Logical views used to shape reads for BI and downstream syncs. Speakers is specific to Cvent and Views to Yellowbrick — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Exhibitors Exhibitor and sponsor records; synced to a CRM or database to track booth, sponsorship, and lead-capture data per event. Users and Roles Access-control objects that govern what a sync service account can read and write. Exhibitors is specific to Cvent and Users and Roles to Yellowbrick — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Surveys Survey definitions and responses; read out to a warehouse for post-event feedback analysis alongside attendance data. Databases Top-level containers for schemas and tables. Surveys is specific to Cvent and Databases to Yellowbrick — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Cvent and Yellowbrick

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Cvent Yellowbrick Sub-second propagation

DetectionCvent notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes.

DeliveryEach detected change is applied to Yellowbrick as a row-level write, with types converted between the two schemas.

Yellowbrick Cvent Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Yellowbrick for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling on timestamp columns.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Cvent through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Cvent: Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC.
  • Yellowbrick: No API rate limits; throughput depends on cluster sizing, and bulk loads should use ybload rather than row-by-row inserts.

How the Cvent and Yellowbrick connectors work

Cvent

Integration surface
Cvent REST API (JSON over HTTPS at api-platform.cvent.com/ea, paginated list endpoints)
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client-credentials flow: a client ID and secret are Basic-auth exchanged for a 60-minute bearer token at api-platform.cvent.com/ea/oauth2/token; legacy API-key and SOAP/CSN auth are deprecated
Change detection
Per-event webhooks push attendee, registration, session, and speaker changes; list endpoints also expose updatedDate for polling and support on-demand manual sync
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit/Remaining/Reset headers; a 429 signals either the per-second limit (retry with exponential backoff from ~2s) or the daily quota (up to 500,000 calls/day on the Premium tier, 1,000/day on Free) exhausted until midnight UTC
