Why teams connect Crustdata and Gong

Run Crustdata and Gong side by side with the same accounts and contacts in both, whether they serve different teams or one is replacing the other.

Crustdata is a read-only source: Stacksync reads its data in real time and delivers it into Gong, so Gong always reflects the current state of Crustdata — without exports, scripts, or schedulers.

Two CRMs in one company is more common than anyone plans for: an acquisition brings its own system, regions or business units standardize differently, or a migration is under way and both are live. In every case, some of the same companies and people exist in both systems, and every day of manual double entry pushes the copies further apart.

Common use cases

  • 01 Enrich CRM accounts with firmographics, headcount growth, and tech stack so scoring and routing run on complete data.
  • 02 Fill missing contact fields on CRM people records from Crustdata profiles instead of manual research.
  • 03 Sync Interaction Stats such as talk ratios and per-rep activity into a coaching database for engagement and rep-performance dashboards.
  • 04 Import externally recorded dialer or web-conference calls into Gong via POST /v2/calls so they get transcribed and analyzed like native Gong calls.

Common sync patterns

Post-acquisition consolidation

Keep both CRMs accurate while the merged team decides on a target system, instead of freezing one and losing months of updates.

Migration with a parallel run

When one CRM is replacing the other, run both fully live until cutover, with no snapshot gap and no data freeze.

Divisional or regional split

Where each CRM serves a different team or region, sync just the shared accounts and contacts so handoffs and cross-sell work.

What you can sync between Crustdata and Gong

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Crustdata objects Gong objects How this pairing syncs
Companies Firmographic records — industry, size, funding, growth signals; read out to enrich CRM accounts and warehouse company tables. Data Privacy (Erasure) GDPR/CCPA deletion handled by POST /v2/data-privacy/erase-data-for-email, with data-for-email lookups on the read side; a write path used for compliance deletions. Companies is specific to Crustdata and Data Privacy (Erasure) to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
People Contact and profile data for decision-makers; read into a CRM or outreach tool to fill missing titles, emails, and LinkedIn profiles. Calls Retrieved via POST /v2/calls/extensive with participants, topics, trackers, scorecards, and media URLs, filtered by fromDateTime/toDateTime; external recordings are also imported via POST /v2/calls with media uploaded via PUT /v2/calls/{id}/media. Read and write. People is specific to Crustdata and Calls to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Headcount and Growth Metrics Time-series employee counts by department and region; read to score accounts on hiring momentum and expansion signals. Transcripts Speaker-attributed, timestamped sentences retrieved via POST /v2/calls/transcript for one or more callIds; available only after asynchronous processing completes. Read-only. Headcount and Growth Metrics is specific to Crustdata and Transcripts to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Tech Stack Detected technologies per company; read to build segments and route accounts by the tools they already use. Users Gong users and team members with roles, titles, email, and settings, read via GET /v2/users to map call owners and participants to CRM and warehouse identities. Read-only. Tech Stack is specific to Crustdata and Users to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Screener Results Saved company searches with filter criteria; read on a schedule so target-account lists in the CRM refresh as companies enter the criteria. Interaction Stats (Activity) Aggregated talk/listen ratios, interaction stats, and day-by-day user activity retrieved via POST /v2/stats endpoints; read out for coaching and engagement reporting. Read-only. Screener Results is specific to Crustdata and Interaction Stats (Activity) to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Enrichment Responses Real-time enrichment lookups keyed by domain or profile URL; read to append fresh firmographic and contact data at form-fill or record-creation time. Trackers & Scorecards Keyword and topic tracker definitions plus coaching scorecards, including answered scorecards, read from Settings as coaching and deal-risk signals. Read-only. Enrichment Responses is specific to Crustdata and Trackers & Scorecards to Gong — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Crustdata and Gong

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Crustdata Gong Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Crustdata for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Pull-based: real-time enrichment endpoints for on-demand lookups plus periodic re-pulls of screeners and datasets.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Gong through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Gong Crustdata Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Gong for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling POST /v2/calls/extensive on fromDateTime/toDateTime.

DeliveryCrustdata does not accept inbound record writes, so this direction carries requests rather than records: Crustdata's output flows back as field updates on the originating Gong records.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Crustdata: Requests are metered by plan credits and per-minute rate limits; bulk dataset pulls are the efficient path for large refreshes rather than per-record enrichment calls.
  • Gong: 3 API calls per second and 10,000 calls per day per company by default; exceeding returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header, and limits can be raised by contacting Gong.
