Why teams connect Auth0 and Resend

Keep the users, groups, and profile details that Resend and Auth0 share consistent in real time, so who can work in Resend always matches who your directory in Auth0 says belongs there.

Auth0 is where a company records who its people are: their accounts, the groups and roles they hold, and the attributes attached to each one. Resend is where a slice of those same people do their work, as agents, members, or seats, and every one of them needs a matching account with the right access. When a directory and a productivity tool are maintained by hand, someone added, moved, or offboarded in one becomes a stale entry in the other within the hour.

Stacksync syncs Domains, Email events, API keys, Emails in Resend with Organizations, Organization Members, Connections, Clients (Applications) in Auth0 bi-directionally and in real time. A user created, renamed, moved between groups, or deactivated in either system updates the matching record in the other within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV uploads and nightly IT batch jobs.

That matters most at the edges of employment. When both systems agree on who has an account, which groups they belong to, and whether they are still active, granting access on day one and revoking it on the last day stops being a manual checklist that trails the directory.

Common use cases

  • 01 Write delivery, bounce, and complaint events back to the CRM or a Postgres table for deliverability reporting.
  • 02 Trigger transactional sends when a row changes in an operational database, such as an order status update.
  • 03 Stream Log Events for logins, signups, and failed authentications into a warehouse for security monitoring and authentication funnel reporting.
  • 04 Sync Organizations and their Connections into a customer database so B2B account records stay aligned with Auth0 tenants.

Common sync patterns

Mirror group and role membership

Moving a user between groups or roles in Auth0 updates their team, permission set, or seat in Resend, so what someone can do reflects where they sit in the directory.

One record per person

People matched across both systems on email or an external ID stay linked, so every account and action in Resend ties back to the right identity in Auth0.

Provision access when someone joins

A user added to Auth0, or moved into a group inside it, gets the matching account or membership created in Resend, so a new hire can start working without a separate setup ticket.

What you can sync between Auth0 and Resend

Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.

Auth0 objects Resend objects How this pairing syncs
Connections Identity-provider configs (database, social, enterprise SAML/OIDC); typically read out to inventory how each tenant authenticates. Domains Verified sending domains with DNS and DKIM status. Connections is specific to Auth0 and Domains to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Clients (Applications) Registered applications and their metadata under /api/v2/clients; mirrored to a database for app and credential inventories. Email events Delivered, bounced, complained, opened, and clicked events emitted via webhooks and written back to source systems. Clients (Applications) is specific to Auth0 and Email events to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Resource Servers (APIs) API definitions and their scopes; synced so permission catalogs used for access reviews stay current. API keys Scoped credentials managed per environment for send and read access. Resource Servers (APIs) is specific to Auth0 and API keys to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Log Events Tenant events (logins, signups, failed logins, admin changes) from /api/v2/logs; read-only, streamed into a warehouse for security analytics. Emails Sent messages retrievable by ID with current delivery status. Log Events is specific to Auth0 and Emails to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Users Core identity records with profile fields plus user_metadata and app_metadata; synced two-way (create, update, delete) via /api/v2/users. Credentials are never returned. Contacts Recipient records with email, name, and subscription state, synced from CRMs or databases. Users is specific to Auth0 and Contacts to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.
Roles RBAC role definitions and their permissions; synced with a database to audit which users hold which access, and assigned to Users from either side. Audiences Named contact lists that broadcasts target; typically mirrored from CRM segments. Roles is specific to Auth0 and Audiences to Resend — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side.

How changes propagate between Auth0 and Resend

Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.

Auth0 Resend Sub-second propagation

DetectionAuth0 notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Resend through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Resend Auth0 Sub-second propagation

DetectionResend notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Webhooks for email lifecycle events.

DeliveryEach detected change is written to Auth0 through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Rate-limit considerations

  • Auth0: Per-tenant limit of about 15 Management API requests/second (bursts to 50) on paid tenants; X-RateLimit-* headers and HTTP 429 signal throttling.

How the Auth0 and Resend connectors work

Auth0

Integration surface
Management API v2 (REST); Authentication API issues the access token
Authentication
OAuth 2.0 client credentials from a machine-to-machine application; scoped Bearer JWT where each operation needs its own scope (e.g. read:users, create:users, update:users) or returns 403
Change detection
Event Streams and Log Streams deliver near-real-time user.created/updated/deleted and tenant events to a custom webhook or Amazon EventBridge; polling falls back to the Get Users search filtered on updated_at
Capabilities
read · write · webhooks
Rate limits
Per-tenant limit of about 15 Management API requests/second (bursts to 50) on paid tenants; X-RateLimit-* headers and HTTP 429 signal throttling

Resend

Integration surface
REST API
Authentication
API key (Bearer token)
Change detection
Webhooks for email lifecycle events; polling for contact and audience state
