Auth0: Management API v2 (REST); Authentication API issues the access token. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials from a machine-to-machine application; scoped Bearer JWT where each operation needs its own scope (e.g. read:users, create:users, update:users) or returns 403. Zuora: REST API (v1) with Object Query, Data Query, and AQuA bulk export; legacy SOAP API also available. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials (bearer token, 3600s expiry); access is governed by the Zuora role of the OAuth client's associated user, with no granular scopes. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Zuora: Zuora recommends OAuth 2.0; tokens expire after 3600 seconds and the OAuth client's Zuora user role governs all access, since there are no per-scope permissions. Auth0: Passwords are never returned by the API — hashes can only be written into a database connection via the bulk user-import job, not read out. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Auth0 and Zuora without custom code.
