How changes propagate between Anthropic and Shopify

Anthropic Shopify Interval-based propagation

DetectionStacksync polls Anthropic for changes on an incremental schedule, reading only records changed since the previous pass. Polling.

DeliveryAnthropic does not accept inbound record writes, so this direction carries requests rather than records: Anthropic's output flows back as field updates on the originating Shopify records.

  • Anthropic: Messages API limits are per usage tier: requests-per-minute plus input- and output-tokens-per-minute, surfaced in anthropic-ratelimit-* response headers with retry-after on 429. Usage/cost reports recommend polling at most once per minute.
  • Shopify: GraphQL uses a calculated query-cost budget; the REST API uses a leaky-bucket model.
