Anthropic is a read-only source: Stacksync reads its data in real time and delivers it into Ironclad, so Ironclad always reflects the current state of Anthropic — without exports, scripts, or schedulers.

Anthropic works on data it does not own. The records, conversations, tickets, messages, and events it needs to embed, classify, summarize, or answer questions about actually live in Ironclad, the tool the team uses every day. So the value of Anthropic depends on two flows that most teams stitch together with a custom script or a one-time export: getting Ironclad's data in, and getting the model's results back out to where people can act on them. When either flow runs on a batch or a stale snapshot, the model reasons over yesterday's data and its output never reaches the record it belongs to.

Stacksync syncs Workflows, Records, Entities, Obligations from Ironclad into Anthropic continuously, so the model always works from current records instead of a snapshot, and writes Message Batches, Models, Usage Report (messages), Cost Report, the scores, labels, summaries, drafts, and embedding metadata Anthropic produces, back onto the matching record in Ironclad. The sync is field-level and keyed on a stable identifier, so every output attaches to the exact record it came from and each system keeps its own extra fields untouched.

You decide the direction and the trigger conditions per field: pull records one way to build and keep a retrieval corpus current, push results the other way onto the operational record, or both.

How changes propagate between Anthropic and Ironclad

Anthropic Ironclad Interval-based propagation

Rate-limit considerations

  • Anthropic: Messages API limits are per usage tier: requests-per-minute plus input- and output-tokens-per-minute, surfaced in anthropic-ratelimit-* response headers with retry-after on 429. Usage/cost reports recommend polling at most once per minute.
  • Ironclad: Limits are enforced per account per minute by endpoint: GET Workflows 400 and POST/PATCH Workflows 40; GET Records 600 and POST/PATCH Records 200; GET Entities 600 and POST/PATCH Entities 200; Webhooks 600; all other endpoints 800. Exceeding a limit returns HTTP 429, and Ironclad recommends exponential backoff with jitter.

Polling. Usage and cost reports are queried by time bucket (1m/1h/1d) over a date range; list endpoints paginate with has_more/next_page (or after_id). No general-purpose data-change webhooks (webhooks exist only for Managed Agents session state).

OAuth 2.0 - Authorization Code grant (PKCE for public clients) and Client Credentials grant for server-to-server; access tokens are Bearer, expire after 6 hours, and every endpoint is gated by a resource scope. The legacy static API bearer token was deprecated on 2024-11-22.
Change detection
Native webhook subscriptions (POST /webhooks) fire on 40+ workflow, approval, signature, document, and comment events, and Ironclad retries a failing endpoint up to 10 times over about 13.6 hours with exponential backoff. Otherwise poll the list endpoints by last-updated. There is no database change-data-capture log.
