Two-way sync
Changes in Active Directory or Klaviyo instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Keep Active Directory and Klaviyo in sync without custom scripts. Cut weeks of integration work, eliminate silent data drift, and give your team a single, reliable source of truth.
Active Directory is where a company records who its people are: their accounts, the groups and roles they hold, and the attributes attached to each one. Klaviyo is where a slice of those same people do their work, as agents, members, or seats, and every one of them needs a matching account with the right access. When a directory and a productivity tool are maintained by hand, someone added, moved, or offboarded in one becomes a stale entry in the other within the hour.
Stacksync syncs Campaigns, Flows, Templates, Catalog Items in Klaviyo with Service principals & applications, Organizational units, Organizational contacts, Users in Active Directory bi-directionally and in real time. A user created, renamed, moved between groups, or deactivated in either system updates the matching record in the other within seconds, with field-level mapping and conflict resolution in place of CSV uploads and nightly IT batch jobs.
That matters most at the edges of employment. When both systems agree on who has an account, which groups they belong to, and whether they are still active, granting access on day one and revoking it on the last day stops being a manual checklist that trails the directory.
A user added to Active Directory, or moved into a group inside it, gets the matching account or membership created in Klaviyo, so a new hire can start working without a separate setup ticket.
When a user is disabled or removed in Active Directory, their account in Klaviyo is deactivated in step, so offboarding shuts down access everywhere instead of leaving a live login behind.
A person's name, email, department, manager, or phone number corrected in either system updates the other, so the productivity tool shows the same details the directory holds of record.
Representative objects on each side — any object or custom field can map to any target. Schemas are auto-detected; types are converted between the two systems.
| Active Directory objects | Klaviyo objects | How this pairing syncs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Devices Registered and joined device objects; typically read into a database for inventory and compliance reporting. | Templates Message templates are accessible via API for content management workflows. | Devices is specific to Active Directory and Templates to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Directory roles Admin role assignments (directoryRole); read for access reviews and least-privilege governance. | Catalog Items Product catalog records synced from an ERP or PIM power product blocks and back-in-stock triggers. | Directory roles is specific to Active Directory and Catalog Items to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Service principals & applications App registrations and enterprise apps; read-mostly for entitlement and license inventory. | Tags Organizational labels on campaigns, flows, and lists support reporting rollups. | Service principals & applications is specific to Active Directory and Tags to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Organizational units On-prem AD DS containers (LDAP organizationalUnit) used to scope which users and groups a sync includes. | Profiles Person records with arbitrary custom properties are the target for CRM and warehouse-sourced attributes. | Organizational units is specific to Active Directory and Profiles to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Organizational contacts Directory contact objects (orgContact); synced for shared address-book and CRM person records. | Lists Static audience memberships sync in from CRMs and forms for targeting. | Organizational contacts is specific to Active Directory and Lists to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. | |
| Users User accounts in Entra ID and on-prem AD DS; synced two-way to create, update attributes, and enable or disable accounts. | Segments Dynamic audiences are readable so other tools can mirror who qualifies. | Users is specific to Active Directory and Segments to Klaviyo — each maps to any object or custom field on the other side. |
Each direction of the sync is driven by what the source system can signal and what the destination accepts — detection, delivery, and expected latency below.
DetectionActive Directory notifies Stacksync of record changes through webhook events. Microsoft Graph delta query (change tracking) for Users and Groups, plus change-notification subscriptions (webhooks) for near-real-time triggers.
DeliveryEach detected change is written to Klaviyo through its API, with automatic retries and rate-limit backoff.

Real-time sync, workflow automation, event queues, EDI, and monitoring, for every Active Directory–Klaviyo connection.
Changes in Active Directory or Klaviyo instantly reflect in both systems. No stale data, no manual imports.
Trigger automated workflows whenever Active Directory or Klaviyo data changes, update records, fire webhooks, or kick off sequences without brittle API scripts.
Handle millions of events per minute without losing a single Active Directory or Klaviyo record.
Track your Active Directory ⇄ Klaviyo sync health, view errors, and replay failed events in one click.
Transform legacy EDI complexity into simple database interactions between Active Directory and Klaviyo.
Configure and sync within minutes, no code. Whether you sync 50k or 100M+ records, Stacksync handles the queues, infra, and plumbing. Integrations are non-invasive and need zero setup on your systems.
Authenticate Active Directory and Klaviyo with each platform's native method — OAuth, API keys, or service accounts — plus secure options like SSH tunneling, IP whitelisting, and VPC peering.
Pick the Active Directory and Klaviyo objects to sync — Stacksync auto-detects both schemas, including custom fields where the platform exposes them. Sync to existing tables, or let Stacksync create new ones with ideal data types.
Fields map automatically even when names and types differ. Stacksync handles transformation and type casting for you, zero configuration required.
Yes. Stacksync provides a managed, real-time two-way integration between Active Directory and Klaviyo: authenticate both systems, choose the objects to sync (such as Active Directory's Devices and Directory roles), map fields visually, and changes propagate both ways in milliseconds — no code required.
On the Klaviyo side: Campaigns, Flows, Templates, Catalog Items, plus custom fields where Klaviyo exposes them. On the Active Directory side: Service principals & applications, Organizational units, Organizational contacts, Users. Stacksync auto-detects both schemas and converts types between the two systems.
Yes. Each object mapping can be bidirectional or restricted to a single direction (both systems accept writes). Read-only mirrors, one-way pushes, and full two-way sync can be mixed in the same integration.
Common patterns for Active Directory and Klaviyo: Provision access when someone joins; Close access when someone leaves; Keep profile attributes current. A user added to Active Directory, or moved into a group inside it, gets the matching account or membership created in Klaviyo, so a new hire can start working without a separate setup ticket.
Active Directory: Microsoft Graph REST API (Entra ID / cloud) and LDAP/LDAPS (on-premises AD DS). Authentication: OAuth 2.0 via the Microsoft identity platform — an app registration with application or delegated permissions (e.g. User.ReadWrite.All, Group.ReadWrite.All) and admin consent; on-prem AD DS uses a bound service account over LDAPS. Klaviyo: REST API compliant with the JSON:API specification. Authentication: OAuth 2.0 for apps or private API keys. Stacksync manages authentication, retries, and rate limits on both sides.
Klaviyo: Klaviyo's current APIs follow the JSON:API specification, so payloads use typed resource objects with relationships rather than flat JSON. Active Directory: For hybrid users mastered on-premises, some attributes (e.g. userPrincipalName) cannot be changed in Entra ID because the object is sourced from AD DS. Stacksync's field mapping accounts for these differences between Active Directory and Klaviyo without custom code.
