Usage breakdown
Who trades EDIFACT BOOKING Confirmation
BOOKING is used most heavily in manufacturing & industrial.
IFTMBC is the UN/EDIFACT booking confirmation, sent by the party providing forwarding or transport services in reply to a booking request. It states whether the booking of a consignment is accepted, pending, conditionally accepted, or rejected, and may carry the conditions under which the requested services take place. Ocean carriers use it to return the booking number, vessel and voyage, locations, and equipment particulars; it is the EDIFACT counterpart of the X12 301. An ocean carrier or freight forwarder sends IFTMBC to the shipper or booking party in response to a firm booking request (IFTMBF). A carrier decides on a shipper's booking request for cargo space and returns the booking number, vessel and voyage assignment, and acceptance status.
