Add Stacksync to Cascade with Windsurf’s serverUrl configuration and OAuth sign-in.
In the Cascade panel, open the … menu and select Open MCP config file. Merge this entry into mcp_config.json without removing other servers.
{
"mcpServers": {
"stacksync": {
"serverUrl": "https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp"
}
}
} Save the configuration. Cascade opens the Stacksync sign-in flow the first time it uses the server. Choose your default workspace.
Ask “List my Stacksync workspaces.” Confirm the workspace before choosing a connector or preparing a change. Connecting the assistant does not start a sync.
Ask “List my Stacksync workspaces.” Select the workspace you want to use, then ask the assistant to inspect the available Airtable connection and capabilities.
Connect the Gemini command-line client to Stacksync through remote HTTP MCP and browser authorization.
Run the following command in your terminal to add the HTTP server.

04 / Put it to work
Example prompts for Airtable. The outcomes describe what to expect, not results from your account. Review the proposed configuration before running it.
Inspect my Airtable and database connections, available tables and existing syncs. Propose a one-way replica for the base and table I select, keeping Airtable record IDs and the fields required for reporting. Identify formula fields and their documented hourly refresh behavior. Do not create or start a sync before I review the mapping.
A reporting-table plan that distinguishes ordinary records from calculated-field freshness.
Inspect the Airtable connector actions and table schema for the record I identify. Determine whether a suitable lookup and update module exists. Propose only the requested editable-field changes with the base, table and record ID shown. Exclude formula fields and stop for my confirmation before making a write.
A scoped record-update proposal that avoids writing computed fields.
Inspect my Airtable sync configuration and current issues. Identify the formula fields involved in the discrepancy I describe and compare the expected hourly formula refresh with the observed evidence. Propose checks for mapping and access before suggesting any retry or configuration change. Do not modify the base or the sync.
A freshness diagnosis that distinguishes documented formula refresh from sync failures.
05 / Before you run
OAuth access follows your Stacksync role. Choose read-only access during sign-in when appropriate. Workspace owners can enable “Ask before every change”; it is a configurable setting. Direct connector actions also follow gateway policies.
Read about permissions and approvals ↗06 / Common questions
The formula-field documentation specifies an hourly refresh. Avoid applying general real-time sync claims to formula outputs.
No. The action must exist, the account must have access and the field must be writable. Formula fields are computed; change their input fields only when the requested task calls for it.
Inspect the actual record identifiers and mapped columns returned by the connection. Use stable record IDs rather than assuming the visible primary field is a unique integration key.
